nice to meet u bro...

imagine now then i back from my private workshop and jus settled down but yet to pack for tomorrow trip... :sian:

anyway, did my blind spot mirrors, top rack, fender extender & scott oiler... :cheeky:

nice to meet u too bro.....looks like you're tour ready....bro, how much did you get your gps and ram mount?

how to do the coil check up? any advise from ur mech? btw, which shop did u send to?

not sure if its worth the money to change to bridgeport tire valve just for the convenience.

how often? u might adjust the preload n compression more on different terrain rides.

i need touring tyres too cos my thru n fro is near 90km. :D

Here's a tip from the mech, let's say your batt flat, so you bring your batt to shop and recharge, once you reinstalled the batt to your bike, start up your engine, rev your bike and check the batt with multimeter/voltmeter to see if it is charging, if it is not, check the rectifier at the undertray near the rear shock, try touching it to see if it is hot, if it is hot, then the rectifier spoil, if it is cold that means its not getting the current from the coil. following pictures will show what to do...

You will need to disconnect the cables from the rectifier, you will also need to lift the fuel tank up so you can pull the cables. Then unscrew the nuts as shown in the second picture which is located on left hand side of the bike.....once unscrewed, open the cover and you can see the coil and magnets. Do take note though, once you've opened the cover, you may need to replace the gasket....

i'm using the tyre valves too....convenience sake, plus keeps your hands clean and safer as sometimes pumping your tires using the stock valve sometimes you'll accidentally place your hand on the hot rotors....

for touring tires, i would say PR2 is one of the best i ever used....

yeahlor thisi know...jialat man....mon to fri i 1up, weekends i 2 up...so got to switch here and there

lucky my rear shock is fully adjustable, i just need to turn the knob to make it harder or softer....

not exactly.. unless its a long trip up north with 2 up, then you will be adjusting it..

once it's dialed in properly, just leave it as it is.. other than preload pending on nature of trip..

i guess i haven't found the right set up for now. :D

yeah the best is to check ard wats the difference for 180, do let me know too :thumb:

haha... okok... tyre light?? wat is UM thinking :dot:

for convenience sake and also your hands will be less or not dirty... lol...

ohh... i guess i skip this n get the heavy balancers ba..

ur bike is the 07 model? mileage how much already? might wanna look into the mileage n determine the time of failure for the coil.

hmm.... rectifier shd b hot when in operation rite?

so, no charging, rectifier hot = rectifier defective. then, no charging, rectifier cold = coil prob.

the tyre valves r really tempting. i might just use back PR2 since i'm using it on the fz1 when i bought it. but depends on whether is it stocked. u using ohlins rear shock?

ADVANTAGES OF VALVE 90 DEGREES BY BRIDGEPORT : PRACTICAL AND SAFE

It is fixed to the rim with a lock nut, therefore it cannot bend nor be expelled from the rim.

It need not to be replaced every time the tire is changed.

The angled quill reduces the effect of centrifugal force, which tends to fling the valve core outwards in a conventional valve, leading to loss of pressure in the tire.

It completely solves the problem of access for inflation, so typical of motorbikes.
