my buddy ever mentioned that these kind of batteries comes in three types, golden tip, stainless steel tip & stainless steel tip with blur-ish wordings..

correct me if i'm wrong, golden tip is made in Taiwan, stainless steel tip is made from Japan & the last is from Thailand..

try check what's yours.. :)

What tip are you referring to? The terminals? If so they are shinny silver and comes with stainless steel nuts and bolts :) Don't remember seeing any wordings there.

It is labelled "Made in Japan" both on the battery and on the box. I think it's very worthwhile for what I'm getting.

so u got ur mivv exhaust installed? i bet no right?

there's no need to rush such performance modifications.. handling mods should always come first..

plus i'm not the kind who 'makes' certain things happen in order to get $$$ and splurge on the new bike.. i prefer to do things slowly and steadily..

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

I saw a brand new YTZ14S battery at Bikeworkz two days ago. I opened it up and the terminals are golden in colour. Box is pinkish and white in colour and box got write 'Made in Japan'. What is the colour of your battery box?? Is it the same colour???

my bad... yup u r right, it's terminal, not tip... :)

the original oem battery should be in stainless steel terminals (shinny silver you can say that) and the wordings on the battery itself is clear & sharp... :)

but ok la... it should be that price too... superspeed123 had his battery changed at this price too... :)

And so I went to SLT and asked from shops on Level 1 and basement. All of them did not have it. Frustrated I went to Automachinery and got it for $12 for one piece. It looks like this fyi:

.

GLUP! when did this thingy cost more than my favorite plate of chicken rice?

Hmm... that's very surprising. I can't remember where I bought my replacement fuse from now. It's the cheapo China-made type, not OEM, cost ~$2-3 I think. I thought it was SLT, but it might just have been my workshop. Tough luck mate

ah that more like it..

can visit the nearby poison places mah... plan it into the itinerary... :D

you are an evil man..i am trying hard to make ends meets

bro, level 3 got... confirm... $0.50 per piece, regardless of how high is the Ampere... oops! :p

this is great info, now to set up my ebay and sell it for $1.50 per piece...:p

Is double bubble windscreen a handling mod? Anyone using it right now? How effective is it in diverting the wind that's blasting to your helmet? With the stock, I find the wind noise is quite noisy.

I'm thinking either this or taller screen. Wondering which one better...

There is no knowledge that is not power

actually, it differ from different people... some will say windscreen is a handling mod while other do not think likewise...

but to me, yes it is... because it deflects more wind and thus u can ride ur bike better in many aspects... :)

double bubble is certainly better than stock already but if you looking for more wind deflection, tall screen are certainly better...

of cus, dun go for those super tall and big screens, else u might have problem when comes to strong cross winds...

for me, i'm using puig touring windscreen... good enough for my height... i can ride it up-straight till over 200km/hr with no or not much issues... :)

guys i left my bike parked last 4 days untouched due to work. when i came back i spotted about a palm size oily patch just around the left leg of the main stand (sidestand side). at first i tot its due to the scottoiler thinking if i may overlube it but when i check again, i was wrong. i touch it and it was black in colour. it came from the left side of the engine. any possibilities of EO leaking? arrghh.. only 6mths old..

wat it could be n the cause of it?

will warranty cover? (but i never went yamaha agent before for servicing)

I got one for $35 from SLT, B1. Must be even below 'entry level' then

I had a similar problem recently, turned out to the gear shaft oil seal. Changed that and a couple of other seals, seems to be ok now. Of course, my bike's a lot older than yours - you really shouldn't be having this within the first 6 months! I think it's worth taking back to the dealer and seeing what they have to say. Even if it hasn't been serviced by them, it's not like your workshop is fiddling with these seals during an oil change.

Again, oil leak could be from any number of places, so don't just rely on what happened to me. But in my experience, the timing of the leak could give a clue as to where it's coming from. For instance, since my leak was from the gear shaft, it only leaked while running or immediately after. Once parked, the oil settled down into the sump and the leak stopped after some time.

Check your rear tyre for signs of oil splatter - this will tell you if your oil is leaking while running or only while parked. Since you don't notice the oil when you park overnight (only after a few days), this should provide some clue as to the location of the leak. What exactly it means, I have no idea.. sorry

bro, try to clean that area (or ur bike up) and lower the volume of your scott oiler and monitor for a few days see if such thing still occurs or not before looking into the real problem...

in my view, if u go back to agent with such situation without telling them more information, it's kinda hard for them to tell u exactly what is the problem and fix that problem...

perhaps we can review that again in a few days time? :)

Have u clean your front sprocket before? You will be surprise how dirty the front sprocket can be. maybe clean up the front sprocket area first to determine where the oil is coming from. maybe your scottoiler on too much oil. For me, my scottoiler is on 1.8. can see the chains is wet will do.
