Guys, just met up with one of my riding kaki, he not from the forum, but i saw his custom crash bar from his metal bender (Same field as seng kwang, but at least not "hanging up and sell" attitude)

am planing to get one set as well hehe what are your opinions ? comes with sliders too :thumb:

Sorry pics a bit dark cos was taken in the night hahahha

it has bigger spacing compared to Hepco Becker from the engine guard to the engine block itself.

I like it. Did you ask the damage?

I was thinking of asking ban hock hin to fabricate a simple c shaped crashbar that is joined to the fz1 gen1 double cradle frame. When I get a quotation, ill get back to you guys.

bro, personal comment hor, no offense hor... :)

i think that this crash bar will not be able to withstand the load if the bike drops...

from the looks, the center combining portion looks pretty fragile...

2.5 point crashbar looks superior than 1 point slide.

A drop is unlikely to damage the crashbar as one of the points doubles as an extended slider of sorts.

Lets be reminded that a crashbar is there to take the damage so that your important stuff wont, which makes it important that it is not more rigid than your frame. Crashbar survives but frame damaged makes no sense.

I am trying to figure out suitable points on my gen1 double cradle frame to fabricate a crashbar. I can only figure out 1.5 points. Single point on the double frame connecting to engine mount, and half a point wrapping around the headers under the radiator to the other side. I dont feel too confident with this idea.

heard from my friend he did it for about $300 plus (estimated, but less than $350), cos he did other things as well, so it was a package price with no exact break down.

He had a choice of powder coat also, but my friend no time for powder coat as he wanan use it up north first hahahha

btw, this crash bar is fixed on a gen 2, i believe gen 1 mounting points are different

yeah it looks filmsy cos its a long flat bar, same as HB, 2 differences between the 2 connecting bar

HB : flat with bending angles, mounting between the radiator and the engine block >.

Customise crash bar, totally flat with no bending angles mounting goes out of the header as shown in the pic

the way i anaylsis it, for HB, (TOUCH WOOD) if bike drop, the flat bar will either bend to hit the radiator or engine block (as you guys know the space betweent he radiator and the engine blook is damn squeezy)

for the Customise crash bar, (TOUCH WOOD) if bike drop, the crash bar either bend outwards of inwards and hit the header, and if header "beng kok", have an excuse to buy a aftermarket one :p
