Hi guys, just got a FZ6 S2, plan to get a practical and cheap topcase like Givi/Coocase asap

Did a search and some calls to the bikeshops with regards to the rack.

But hope to have some friendly advice.

1. Givi rack $225 - no need to mod/drill fairing, can fit Givi/Coocase/Kappa...?

2. SW motech $230 - need to mod/drill fairing, can fit Givi/Coocase/Trax...?

3. Got any cheaper racks which do not require mod/drilling?

Cheers!

Hi all! I'm considering getting a FZ1. Which dealer do you all get your Fazers from? HL cycle or ASP?

Normally, how long do you have to wait for your brand new Fazer to arrive?

Thanks. =)

Hi all, as i am planning for a fz1 and i am not sure wether to go the s version or the n version. Any recomends?

just a matter of preference.. whether you like to have a half fairing or naked bike.

half fairing so that when you go touring, you have a bigger windshield, useful for daily riding as well. looks more sporty, you can even add a full fairing to it.

naked, i dunno for what. so that in case of any accidents *touch wood* its cheaper to repair? let those pple who love their bikes naked tell you more.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I believe the naked version is for those who loves the streetfighter look.. Like the Z1000..

Guys,

Have been taking public transport for 2 days now. I noticed when starting bike, a bit lag and while moving, bike also not behaving as it used to be.

After heavy rain on Wed morning, I already couldn't start the bike. ERP unit also showing message Low with numeric code 8

I have been riding a FZ1 since 2010 (2 yrs now). Think it is time to change the battery, short city riding not enough to charge the battery ya!

Guys, please advise, if I am buying the battery from AutoMachinery, do I need to charge it first? Any good way to maintain the battery?

Thanks. :)

Depends on the kind of battery you buy. I understand that for Gen2 the battery is mounted at an angle (not vertical) so you can only use the gel type, not the one with distilled water.

In any case, for best results it should be charged overnight before installation. The battery may be 'pre-charged' but you don't know how long it has been sitting on the shelf and how much of the charge has drained. And trying to use a weak battery only makes it weaker and shortens its lifespan.

For longer life, you should also disconnect the battery terminals when leaving the bike unused for more than 2-3 days. If going out of town, it would be good to connect the battery to a charger while you are gone. Lead acid batteries do not like to be "deep cycled" - i.e. a full discharge will reduce the battery's lifespan, unlike the Li-Ion batteries in phones/laptops etc. - so keeping it topped up at all times is good. You can consider installing a headlight switch to take some strain off the battery during day time running.

Hope this helps! :thumb:

Thanks, Bro. Crankcase for the detailed explanation. Really useful.

Just called them, the battery selling $2XX ah! Thought $18X.

Anywhere I can grab the battery?

You can try K S Motor, 127 Jln Besar, Singapore 208845 (Tel : 6294 9316). Their prices are supposed to be good, but they didn't have stock when I was hunting for mine. Eventually got tired of waiting and bought the cheaper fill-up-and-seal type from Ah Boy... but I believe you can't use that in Gen2 as it is not mounted vertically.
