Hi guys.

 

Had a low speed fall with my bike. Just felt that the bike is misaligned slightly.

Went to 2 mechanics and both said different things.

One said the handlebar is bent and the other said the fork is misaligned.

Just wanna know how to confirm whether the prob lies with the handlebar or the fork. Thanks for the input.

Heh Does anyone know the price of OEM and EBC brake pads? Does those cheap brake pads scratch or spoil the rotor disc??

 

spoil rotor disc then change rotor disc lo.. front rotor disc 1 pair around $300-$350 only.. and it's not easy to spoil it.. lol..

in my opinion, we can't tell what is your issue after your fall cus we are not there to look at your bike physically.. like what u already said, u ask u get multiple & different feedback/answers..

 

u can either trust your own mechanic, or if you don't trust any, ask them to show you proof that it is bent/misaligned.. then u decide accordingly..

OEM pads should be quite ex. EBC about $65 include installation. If u know how to fix, someone in the mass order is selling EBC pads. About $55. The problem with those cheapo brakepads is that they are have **** grip in wet condition and not very good grip in dry condition too. What happened when u need to do a ebrake and the lousy brakepads u use take a longer time to heat up and grip onto the disc.My two cents is dun save on brake pads and tire. Your life depends on it. If the handle bar is bent it should be quite obvious to a rider, don't need a mechanic to tell you that. Just change it out since it is not expensive.

 

The mechanic can realign the forks by turning a few screws on the the upper, lower trees, wheel shaft and re-tighten to bring them back to alignment. Unless you mean the forks are bent, ask the mechanic to show you which part is bent. If he can see I am sure you will see the same thing(just maybe you don't know where to look) Otherwise...haha, mechanic don't have super eyesight where they can see something and the rider can't. Fork can be bent which is not obvious to the eyes, only way is to pull the forks and turn them under a dial indicator.

 

Change the handlebar if it is bent, otherwise continue riding and maybe after awhile you won't feel out of sorts. Most of these things are usually just psychological.

Finally received my mirrors bought online.. Moment of truth will be tmr if it will fit nicely and not vibrate.. Quality wise i couldnt complain for the price that i've paid.. As long as it serves the purpose as a rear view mirror..

Sometimes I press start button, only hear a click sound from under the seat. After several tries, then can crank engine.

Caberg Duke - $250 Regina

Nolan N104 - $??? Chiap Lee

Shark Evoline 2 or 3 - $380 Motoworld (Don't know is 2 or 3)

 

If your budget bigger can go for:

 

Shoei Neotec - $750 Chiap Lee

Schubert C3 - $1,200 Chiap Lee (Comes with bluetooth i think? Have to ask @pichudot

 

Anyway you should go try on and see which fitx you best, i've tried on HJC and Shark, both is nice... HJC is lighter and better i think? you can check the reviews on http://www.Webbikeworld.com

Budget can always adjust. Like some wise man here said. The price you pay for your helmet is how much you value your head.

I'm presently using a open face Arai which does not sell any model with built in shades. Sad...
