i was told the k&n filter can be used to replace the whole airbox, which the mech had already done for so many of the daelim bikes, including daystar n roadwin. costs 160bucks.

one air filter change costs 20 bucks. so i figure out the costs will even out at my 8th change, but tat is provided i intend to stick to rw for at least 5-6 years, which by then super4 maybe is at spec10 already! lol.

so i'm still considering.. wad is the advantages of changing to k&n??

Hi s32, congrats on getting ur license and bike..!

I am using Hella Twintone(I think), two snail lookalike kinda horn.. Very loud. Go inspection last dec, not problem at all... These kinda horn is still consider electric horn, not air horn.. :) By the way, which part of the bike was the horn fix at?

The stock mirror are big and rectangular.. IF not wrong, got the wording Hyosung at the plastic surface.. My mirror was too tight and eventually crack at the joint.. Becos of inconsiderate ppl twisting my mirror when they move their bike out.. :sian:

Hey mattman, do you have any idea whether the stebal horn that i installed is air-horn or electric horn cos i dunno how to tell the difference. Some of my friends who saw my bike says that it's air-horn so if kenna stop by TP will kenna summon..

Also, how do you carry your insurance with you when you ride? It's in a forn of an A4 paper right so can't possibly keep in wallet but if keep under the back seat rain sure wet one.

bro, to be a better ride. all u have to do is ride safely. follow the dos and donts of riding on the road, apply what u have been taught in the riding school. when cornering u dont dare bank, be like me lah, jsut go into the corner slow, if ur friend leave u behind, nvm, later can catch up. better than u on the floor already, how to catch up? :sian: take sometime to understand ur bike, how it works and all. have fun riding bro!

Hi f.zi, just went to upper thomson road to try some banking & U-turn before dinner just now. Feels pretty good though.. Maybe with somemore practise i'll be more confident ya.. My next step will be to practise pillion riding too..

i fold my insurance, road tax, and some other documents into quarter and place them inside a zip-loc bag. zip it up and its water proof. then i place it under the back seat. been there all the while and no problem at all. just make sure you open the seat and air it once in a while haha.

Wah.. 160 ah.. quite ex also.. what i heard is K&N and bmc better air flow... but changing it alone shouldnt be much increase of power..etc... This question u got to ask those senior liao.. Or maybe ask stsoh from ur daelim thread?? :) He is knowledgeable in my view.. :)

Stebel magnum horn is consider as electric horn.. Just that it is loud.. So far, never hear anyone failing inspection becos of stebel magnum. And also, my hella twintone as told by the shop uncle is being use by BMW, so dun think is of any issues..Air horn if i am not wrong need some sort of compressor to work...

I used to do this also, i put a small street directory, road tax, insurance in a zip lock bag and put under seat.. Our back seat no good, water will go in loh.. so zip lock bag is a must, otherwise 2/3 plastic bag also good..

But now.. I dun even know where my insurance and roadtax is.. it should be lying somewhere in my box or house... I know it is still valid.. hehe... I dun display my roadtax.. so far quite lucky, never kana road block (Touchwood..)..

I THINK failing to display roadtax is a offence.. Not sure about failing to bring insurance..Police is able to check on their side if the vehicle road tax is valid, just that they got to do more work(which might make them piss off and look for ways to summon u).. Insurance wise, they will issue u a notice to produce ur insurance to any police centre/stations... something like that...

So best is to be a law abiding citizens.. Bring all documents better.. save time.. definitely not advisable to challenge/guai lan with them..

yeap tts right. when ur confident enough, try pillion riding. get a friend who's willing to do this for you. pillion ard ur neighbourhood first, then go out to the major roads, then the expressway. remember, performance of ur bike is different with a pillion. and with a pillion, ur riding with another life on ur bike, whatever u do or he/she do will affect everything. ride carefully with a pillion on ur bike, esp ur loves one, never get into an accident together with them, ive been one, and it s ucks to be there bro.

Hey guys need some help here.. Just returned from Kelantan Land after fixing my balancer.

After having it fixed, i had alot of difficulity starting my bike. Press the starter & throttle as what i always do but can't seem to work.. Although it did manage to start after approximately 10 - 15 tries, it was really very embarrassing as the people in the shop was looking at me. Not only that, by me trying this way will drain off the battery quickly right. Any idea what can i do or change so i can start the bike with ease next time?

Also, i noticed that the balancer isn't really fixed properly, i think, because it can still be turned/screwed. It is like that?

hey man. which shop did you do your balancers? i think the balancers shouldn't affect the starting of your bike leh.

well sometimes i also have problems starting mine ( u know..) but mine's not that bad.. usually i just twist the throttle and press the ignition button afew times can already. not a big problem. you can try asking mechs or smth.. im not very sure. :o

try going back to ban hon and ask?

oh allright.

maybe first thing u should do now is get ur idling higher. this one can diy or if ur free, just go down to ur mech and ask him to do it for you, it takes only about 3 second?

how to push start? make sure there's a slope if u want to push start urself. if not, u want to paddle, make sure u can reach about 10 - 20km/h on the speedo. or get someone to push ur bike from behind but make sure he stays far away after u gained enough speed.

now lets just start from the slope.

1. switch on ur ignition

2. prepare urself to move ur bike on the slope with neutral gear engaged

3. when u've gained enough speed, say 10-20km/h, clutch in and kick up to gear 2(u can try gear 1 but gear 1 alot of engine break. i usually do it with gear 2)

4. release ur clutch to ur biting point(dont throw pls) and when u hear ur engine roaring, clutch in and play with the throttle to keep ur engine running

hope this helps!

cheers

last time i tried push starting with my dad and my bro pushing from behind. LOL. what i did was engage is gear 1 first, then when gained enuf momentum(u can hear the sound), i just throw clutch and whack throttle and it roared to life! wah the feeling very shiok. and btw just now i increased the timing higher a bit. now engine wont die by itself when idle. WOO~

fellow comet-ers. how do u put p-plate for behind? mine drop again for the third time. :sian: sian la all three used screws and nut. all the top part chipped off. tmr i thinking of placing the p-plate further up but wont be 100% visible but i think more secure. or shld i just use 3M double sided tape which ive bought long ago. but if use double sided tape, later the stains and sticky remains will be very hard to remove rite? please advise. thanks!
