Just recently change my tire to Pirelli Diablo (front & rear), Cam Chain Tensioner, Clutch Plate, Sprocket and chain at HLC... Great place with good customer service... If you got the $$ to spare... this is a great place to service and do some maintenance on your bike... Overall i'm impressed with their works. They even tell me that our comet share the same spare as Suzuki's GN 125/250... So part is not that rare for this bike... its whether the shop wanna do it or not...

dats gd news. at least ders few shops doing hyosungs. not like pulsar. the bike itself is gd. however, the parts r sooooo rare n ONLY UM has it. i was thinking of getting a 2nd hand comet 250, changed the analog meter to digital n 'mod' the bike to become a touring bike. but first things first, gotta save some cash. hehehe. but i also thinking of getting a class 2 bike but maintaince quite high, oh well, no rush. use wat i have first.

Hi SC Gaban,

Just saw your post. My personal experience with the comet250cc. The comet 250cc max out at about 130-140km/h (clocked via GPS, meter at 160-165). No issues for long distance riding as I rode it before to Betong. However, if you intend to ride long distance regularly at 130-140, you will be better off with another bike(bigger cc) as engine issues will come sooner rather than later since rpm is at max or near max. If you're comfortable sitting at 110(GPS), then there should not be issues.

Second hand prices for comet 250 are good(low) if you can find 1.

FC is about 30km/l, can hit 500km on 16litre tank.

wow, dis thread is as almost as gd as dead. well, plse dun mind my critisizism.

ahhhh well, dis is my view of the comet 250cc, naked or ferring.

let me start bragging:angel:.comet is a good bike actually. although ive never ride one. im saving my cash to get d 250cc, a second hand one. im currently riding a pulsar 180 for normal working pleasure n touring purposes. the reason i intend to get a comet 250 is becos in terms of finance, its not as cheap as a 200cc and its not as exp as 400cc. the gd side is dat its v-twin. which means, u can wack 130-140-150km/h and maintain it at constant speed around rpm7-9. dis is no prob for me cos i tour wif my pulsar around 100-110km/h. i dun need to ride so fast anywayz. in terms of reliabily...hmmmm.. honestly i duno. fc wise, 50-50. maintance/parts wise, u can ask BIke Production along seranggoon. ders also a workshop in jb which is quite near from the checkpoint.

talk about v-twin, vara 125 n comet 250. comfort wise, vara wins. speed wise, comet wins. well, its up to ur individual taste. for me, id rather go for comet 250. first hand comet 250 cost around 8-9k. however, if u sell it, unfortunately, its low in demand so the selling price will drop drastically.

i got dis in4 from my malaysian NAZA frends.

lastly, if u r the type to tour, and u r quite low on ur budget, try comet 250.

remember dis, all bikes have their pros n cons, ive encountered probs wif my pulsar several times during the last 2 years. however, up until now, i still tour with it. if i got a second hand comet, i intend to keep my pulsar as a communal bike n my comet as touring bike.

well dats about it. thanks for reading my long n boring speech.

peace!

thnxs for the info bro, i will take into consideration. :) btw, how come the speed of the bike is 130/140km/h while the gps is around 150-160km/h? so which is right? dat time u right 140km/h to betong, wats ur rpm? n ur spoc size?

130/140 is GPS speed, 160/165 is meter speed.

I can't remember the rpm, but if I remember correctly, not maxed out, just can't go up.

cool.

hey just like to ask, did you get the 125 or 125R?

im interested in getting the GT125R but i have yet to ask the shop about the price.

so may i know how much did you got the bike for?

i read about the GT125R and GT250R sharing the same body so the 125R motor is kinda lacking.

can somebody enlighten me about this?

and any idea where to source for 2nd hand GT125R?

cos hyosung bikes are kinda rare.

sorry if i sound retarded, but i hope you guys can help me with this.

cheers and thanks

i think the difference is 125r look faster and is slightly faster, (like 10km to 20) i think.

I like the statement "look faster"... :thumb:

i see.

so did you compare it to the GT125?

but is the engine a lil lacking for the weight of the bike?

it definitely looks faster and the headlight looks like Ducati 999 and busa mixed.

i have seen my friend's GT250, quite a big bike i would say, and relatively well designed too.

so that got me interested in the comet series.

but i do not know where to start sourcing for a 2nd hand one.

i tried searching on SBF and sgbikemart.

my plan would be to get the GT125R, after that i take over my friend's GT250 so that i can try out diff bikes.

how's the tyres going along for you? wow if they can service comets it'll be good cuz i live in the east. been wanting to change my brake pads and investigate hissing sounds plus slight eo leaks. . waiting for my ns allowance this month whooo

Mine also cant start with the side stand, maybe its a safety mechanism. HAHA . Yeah i stay in the east too! chai chee area too !

i don't think its a safety mechanism. i think it's like suffocating slightly for some reason when it's leaned over. the rpm drops slightly when i lean it over (after starting upright). It also doesn't make sense to me to drop rpms when i'm in a bend for safety haha. i think we better check it out in our free time lol

whats the RPM when you're at gear 5? i'm kinda a greenhorn but if i guess its the clutch or something slipping?

Brake pads can change to honda's . just change mine ytd ,24 dollar a set . :)

where did you change it? haha

i see.

so did you compare it to the GT125?

yeah it's lacking in power. I kinda find pillioning ppl a bit hard as the pillon is seating much higher above the ground compared to other 2b bikes. The slow acceleration means any movement the pillion makes will cause it to wobble slightly more but you'll get used to the weight power ratio.:)

i see, thanks for the clarification.

i'm afraid i might be too heavy for the bike.

i'm weighing in at 76kg, and maybe i would sometimes pillion my friend, about 43kg.

are you riding GT125?

would like to ask all bros and sis who are riding GT125/GT125R, what is your top speed for the bike?
