could be voltage regulator... or rectifier...

btw your volts are very low...

12V battery switch off engine after a relatively long ride should be around 12.9 volts.

riding charging should be between 13.5-14.0v

rectifier hmmmm its new leh ... battery oso new abt 1 month.

did they charge your battery before they install for you?

might be weak wiring...

mine had charging problems and the way they fixed it was to attach another wire bypass from voltage regulator direct to battery....

charging at 14V now...

Put silicon around the gaps and tape up with black tape. -ve to bike frame and +ve to fuse in the fuse box and per the thread starter.

Is your IU unit mounted on the riser somewhere? If so, I can go take photo soon and post. Mine isn't Shadow voltmeter though

hi, i just got a new digital voltmeter which i wanna diy installing it.

there r 3 wires. on the packaging it reads...

Red: Ignition (Positive)

Black: Ground (Negative)

White: Battery (Positive)

where shd these wires connect to for most accurate readings?

my plan is...

Red: connect to one of the 10A fuse pin, any specific fuse? any fuse will do?

Black: batt negative terminal

White: batt positive terminal

any comments?

i need old birds to help

my voltmeter currently tap to headlight.

i turn on my ignition it shows 11.7V, headlights on

after warming up at idle shows 13.5V(halogen) 14.1V(HID). idle speed is about 1200rpm

when moving decrease to 13.1V with halogen

when moving decrease to 13.5V with HID

been noticing this problem for the past 3 months. so far nothing happens yet.

check with unique they say my batt is normal. but why is my voltage so low during startup?

I too connected directly to Headlight in front.

Before start w/o HeadLight :11.4

started bike w/o HL : 13.8~14.1

on HL:12.5

riding with HL on :12.2v max

riding w/o HL also 12.2v max

idling w/o HL can 13.8~14.1v

Rectifier changed 2 mths ago..

Should I connect to fuse? Last time I connected to fuse but like voltage meter still on after I off ignition. So strange. hahaha

I also had this problem. I finally tap direct to the battery by installing a switch. I think the reading has a increased differences of 0.3v ~0.5v

I installed my digital voltage meter behind my predator mask.
