$5k is ok.

Certainly not up there yet but still a good watch.

whats important is no so much the price but that one truly likes it and wears it thereby creating sentimental value which is more meaning then monetary value.

Just like my first Submariner in 1998, i wear that as a bash around watch but i will never sell it.

My wrist too too big either, only 6.5". BIG watches are the IN-THING now.

actually big is not longer in, but it doesnt really matter as long as the wearer can carry off nicely.

cool collection of Panerais you have there.

Here is my Panerai Luminor, was a gift in 2004

It was definitely new but it didn't come in a box or with certificate, so i thought it could be a loot, However it turned out even worse, it was a fake, they called it Chinarai, cost only SGD55. Once a blue moon, I will shake it to get it going, it keeps good time, and even went sailing with it, still in excellent condition.

Anyone wants to buy ?

Try Seiya Japan or Higuchi Inc. Google these companies for websites. Many have bought from them. Reliable.

thanks slowrider_79 and phang! I will give Higuchi a try! so all the seikos in his website are JDMs?

or more specifically, how do i tell if they are JDMs or not?

Pam is nice I agree but honestly I dont want to buy any more $5k - $10k watches as I already have a few.

At this point, I would prefer to buy a $30k - $40k watch if I were to buy one at all.

Frankly , i'm not into watches like Phang and the rest. So have little urge to keep on buying.

Problem is I have no collection to speak of.

I'm not a real watch lover and i only have three standard Rolexes

Subdate1998 - for thrashing around, gardening, travelling, biking

White ExplorerII 2006 - kept in the drawer, trying to sell

Black Daytona 2006 - for daily wear

too lazy to put up pics, plse scroll back this thread and you will see some the pictures

Phang has a great collection. once again, do scroll back and you will see some pictures.

Currently, I only have 1 dress watch, 2 daily wearing watches, 1 trash watch and a few old Ah Pek watches which I only dare to wear at home. Not qualify to call it a collection o_O

Thats not bad.

Actually I forgot to add that I also have a Speedmaster Moonwatch, a skin Chrono, a 40yrs old Enicar, a tag formula one, several russian watches including boktok, vostok and poljot and also a Bulgari which I gave to my sister as it was too elegant for me.

does that make it a collection? i still think not...

Used to collect watches from 6 to 7 years back. Started off with Seiko Divers, and when I finally got some of the rarest or prestigious ranges from the vintage 600m Tunas, marinemasters & even a GS which I paid 11grand for, I got bored and sold all of them. Then I went on to collect G-Shock Frogmen, they were cheaper but the rare ones are hard to source, and again when I've got some of the most desirable ones like the Brazillian, Snake Killer & Real Black Frogs, I again got bored and sold all of them. But throughout, only 1 watch stayed with me and I just can't bring myself to sell it or trade off, the very common but ever popular Rolex SeaDweller. The SD is just the watch that does it as my daily beater doing anything.

my collection as of now is only a seiko monster, seiko mapmeter, citizen ecodrive, normal g-shock and ball night train.

I like Breitlings. Nice aviator watches.

Too bad I can't afford them.

... Even if I sold my ass at Geylang. ROFL....

So the only good watch I have is an old Sector.

I think it is very reasonable. I sent my late father in law’s Datejust for servicing 10 years ago at Rolex Center and cost S$300+ then.

Chrono movement like yours is very labor intensive. Only less than 10% of your watch price, worth it lah!
