Help on what to do.. accident that happen to me

The bike shop has already submitted the Claim on the taxi ..

The aunty at the bike shop told me to back off from the claim as i will not be 100%.. she told me i'm still able to back off because the surveyors have not make any move yet. She told me this because from her experience that once i got a letter of prosecution chances of me winning the case is low.

 

She warned me that if i proceed on the claim, if i lose the case, i will need to pay the surveyors money.. and lots of other innocent money..

she ask me to reconsider before i do a 3rd party claim.

 

She there after ask me to repair my bike on my own, she quote me 1000 sgd to repair my bike as the fork is out of place, etc.. she will replace the mirror and foot rest and the rest are all labour charge..

oh gosh, i am not in the fault and now i got to pay for this stuffs..

i really dunno what to do.. could any one help me? .. and advise me what to do ?

I have feed back to the police of this case thru email and email the head of investigations..

 

I hope they will really look into this rather than give fault to those who are innocent

eh wait a min.. 1k just to repair fork and those minor stuff? u ask her to cum my lj wan or not? carrot leh ..u better ask what they going to repair properly before letting them do ur bike

Well, the main crux of it is how certain are you of winning? Do you have witnesses? Does the evidence(scratches/dents) on both vehicles point to the driver as being at fault? Was the police called to the scene? Were you conveyed to the hospital? Was it agreed to be a claim or private settlement? All these you have to take into consideration as the opposite party will definitely come up with all sorts of reasons and lies to make his side of the story credible.

 

Else, consult a lawyer or someone who really knows something about the law, not some aunty from a bikeshop. Be safe rather than sorry.

 

Just curious, what bike are you riding to have to pay 1k for forks and some other cheap stuff?

Front forks damaged, does that mean you went in to cab? What part of cab did u hit? How bad was damage to cab? Is cab driver going to claim damages from u?

 

If it is what I think it is.... your chances not high at all.... and consequence is not worth it. Perhaps get repair quote from another bike shop....

It is an accident i have desribed here at the other thread i have post. I am going straight , while the taxi is turning right.

 

im on green light, he is on green too. but he failed to give way to me.

im been conveyed to the hospital at nuh and i pay for the medical fee.

when i left the scence the police have not arrived yet.

i heard from my IO that the taxi driver seem not to describe the accident truthfully.

 

my bike shop is at cka of bukit batok.

any one knows bout the reptuation of them?

they claim that only cka have the parts to repair my vehicle.

they told me the rest is all labour charge as my fork will be repaired and my mirror will be changed and foot rest be changed. anyone could help me on this as in what is suppose to be the charge? i din allow them to go ahead and repair as i say i will need to go down to take a look before they do anyting.

I hit the side of the cab near the fuel tank. It has got a dent in it..

im nt sure will he claim on my insurace as he did receive a letter or proseuction from the TP as well from what i noe from my IO.

 

 

 

 

my bike shop kept emphazing that only cka have the original parts to replace my bike ..

 

they are not going to change the fork only they are going to ment it to its original ..

Wtf... Go other shop and ask first.. Dun get carrot.. Getting a new pair of fork for ur bike i think also not that expensive.. In a accident, No one will tell the truth even if they are in the wrong.. They will twist the story other way round.. Further more is a TAXI!! I got involved in a BMW driver staying in a terrace hse oso lied abt his statment.. So if u can twist ur story, GO ahead..

i have called him.. he ask me to go down to his office at people park centre .. before going down i need to request a report of the taxi driver from the traffic police..

they told me a new pair of fork will cost 700+ sgd..

 

im riding daelim roadwin 125..

any one of u know roughly how much will it cost?

 

i dun wanna get carrot but the bike shop quote me such price, i dunno what to do.

they told me they will need to change the

1) head light 75 bucks

2) disc brake 158

3) foot rest 46

4) buckle 48

5) body (skeleton) , sport rim , fork need to readjust back..

they charge me total of 1135 for all these..

Do you have any witness? You can ask IO if they have eye witness statement on this case. And did you also receive persecution letter from TP? If the cab driver receive letter, but you did not, it is possible that a initial judgement is passed already.

 

Did the cab have passenger? If yes, he/her may be an witness...

 

One more thing, is there a red light camera at the junction? If yes, it could prove that you had right of way... unless your picture was taken of course, then u dont need to argue anymore..

 

I had once made a claim before. I was hit from back, back fender needs to be replaced. When I called lawyer (Teo Kiat Seng... something like that), the reception answer phone. Very happy to hear motorbike accident claim... then they very disappointed to learn that I had no injury! Thats the thing they like most! An injury claim. Anyway, the claims were settled by the other person insurance. Not bad, I got to pocket $300+ for loss of transport.

 

BTW, I believe you dont have to pay for lawyer for just asking him about your chances to win the case. But be careful about lawyers who say anything just to get your business. In case they lose, how? You got to ask him.

i did receive the letter ,so did the taxi driver. the TP said must be fair to him and me

the taxi got no passenger ..
