i was back reading roadwin postings and i read that uncle stsoh installed gaskets to his header... can our bajaj also do such mods?? it will reduce engine vibration right??

 

and wad type of gasket is it?? cant possibly be rubber.. will melt

The gaskets were for the modded header to have a snug fit to the engine exhaust port. I dun know what impact it will have on the pulsar....Usually certain bikes have a strong vibration zone at certain rpms....for RWs it is at the 5-6 k rpms.....

I changed my carb settings to mainjet 98 @ slot 3.

 

Pick up is there but my acceleration is a bit sloppy :giddy:

wads so good abt k&n filters??

 

our bajaj have this like square type filters... but i removed it. in the long run wads the worst that can happen?

sometimes it is just simple thing like airfilter.

after some long usage, the air-restriction is more than when new.

so u can try different setting to balance air/fuel mixtures (14.7 air wt/1 fuel wt).

try slot#2 with pilot-screw@2 1/2 or 2 1/4 turns.

air/fuel mixtures r hard to be balance for the whole range of rpms.

u might get good mixtures at low rpm but not at top rpm, vice versa.

tricky to get balance on a carb, hence EFI.

 

my carb setup now at mj#102, slot#2, pilot@2-1/2 turns.

running with modded stainless steel header n inner-outlet tube removed muffler.

 

next mod, awaits k&n airfilter (RU-1750) tat i ordered from ebay......

Soh...should have waited for me.....i just troubleshot the PC network for a shop that wholesales oil seals and motor oils just this afternoon. The tow kay can help me to get the model of the K&N filter @ COST PRICE.....meaning lesser than SGD 35....

 

Also troubleshot my sloppy top end.....did a lean/reach test and found that my settings are too lean....loosen air screw 1 turn and now pick up and acceleration damn shiok ah....

Oh ya...another "fuel saving" device on the market...shop is at Middle rd there i believe....anyone with extra dough can try and inform us of the results.....Must inform ah...dun keep for yourself ah....:sian: :smile:

wahh tanks uncle soh... the mech told me can remove filter let more air in. den i ask wont it damage anything.. and he said spore air very clean 10,000 servicing clean filter little dirt

really??.. now iam trying out this new mech at geylang area they just moved there..

 

do you remember uncle stsoh i pm u abt my flat spot problem??... u were right it was the carb needle setting.. stock it was really high almost at the top position.

 

since i change mainjet and had the needle set lower the flat spots are gone...

a bajaj rider coming to daelim thread to post.. hehehe.. dont mind the intrusion roadwin riders. i come in peace.

 

uncle stsoh iam looking for K&n filter for my bike and i did research and in india they fix filter model k&n rc-1060. if u do a search on that model its a round type filter.. but out bajaj filter is a square flat type..

BTW, can anyone tell me how loud the knocking/tapping sound was with their RW when they first got it? It's really loud on mine and I'm concerned that it's more than just a minor adjustment that needs to be made. I'm taking it in to the shop next week to get it's first maintenance done.
