such a beautiful place, u should be worry less about the tapping sound n enjoy rides around the island.

basically if it does give problem then u probably will have problem starting the motor, ask ur mech to check the cam chain tensioner.

also try change engine oil 2 semi-syn 20w-50 or motul 5100 during ur run-in period.

like i say b4 castrol EO is not in my favourite lists, try avoiding it if possible.

Thanks stsoh!

I'll try the semi-synthetic first when I get the initial maintenance done this week and let you know.

Uncle soh...i dun see any problem unless you are thinking of putting the filter into that silver cage. Just cut away the potrusion and insert in the air box without the silver cage cannot meh?

wadee...i was yahooing my IT collegues in India Mumbai Datacentre.....all of them replied that this is a flaw in the Pulsar...although not all of them will get this problem or symptom. The only trouble is that in India they say even the Bajaj technicians dun even know how to fully solve this issue when they bring in for servicing....

But they did iterate that you should not ride at above 100 kph for long durations or you'll be needing an overhaul soon!!

They are my collegues from India...all riding pulsars...one of them riding the old version...the other three riding the new ones. Pulsars there are like Honda cups in Malaysia...uncountable...

But from their feedback when they were in SG, said that the Honda models here are far more superior quality then back home. :giddy:

Certain parts can be purchased elsewhere....oil filters, fork seals etc.

Mior, here's my 2cents worth.

NEVER buy rw unless u r prepared and really want the bike for the bike and not the looks.

1) things to look out for on a RW you can ask uncle soh. Basicly, it's the same thing as any bike out there. But PLS do check the sound of the bike. When u pull the trottle, hear the sound of the bike. is there any "loose screw or nut sound". If there is a strong loud vibrating sound, it means ur header is gone. I didn't check it n now i must pay $150 fer it. othere than that it's the normal check up.

2) yes u can, u can even go to cka and ask them to service a s4.(cause i saw a s4 iin the shop tt time. )

Positive bout RW125. (for a 2b bike)

-Nice looks.

-Fuel Friendly.

-easy maintained.

-Won't reallybe caught for speeding most of the time.(cause u can't go too fast anyway.. *hehe! i like this point most.Save money* ):thumb:

-NO 2t.

-can sleep on it. haha!

- got friendly n helpful teacher here to help us out.

Negative bout RW125

-Heavy compared to most 2b bikes

-Vibrates alot

-Expensive parts

-No resale value.

-if u got big ego as in RACING, than forget it. won't bring u much.

So all in all, think b4 u made a harsh decision.

:sweat

gd luck! n $4.5 k plus insurance is ex, i oonlyspent 3k plus insurance on milage was 20k+ . yes it's second hand.:goodluck:

hmmm.. what do you mean by expensive spare parts? 2 folds? 3 folds? can give examples of which parts are distinctively more expensive?

The spares are not really that expensive....its just that there are rarely any imitation parts that can be used on Daelim bikes hence parts required must be original.

And as all original parts be it Honda, Kawa, Yamaha....they are a bit more expensive compared to local made ones. Also it doesn't even reach 1 fold....sometimes a mere 20 - 30% more expensive only. However there are certain parts that are ex such as the original signal lights / mirrors but that doesn't mean that u cant replace them with parts bought from Ah Boy....just make sure that the parts can fit then ok already!
