i see...then might as well i get it changed tomorrow then. That way i can change the whole set of sprokets & chain @ one go six months later (hopefully longer!).

Got it :) But seriously, i dun mind a slower pick up, if i wanted pickup i would have gotten a scrambler instead LOLz. Having changed the exhaust header, i think it would compensate for the extra pick up by enrinching the carb. The only downside for the 15/42t setting is that the max speed for the bike is only about 105 - 108 kph @ 8900 rpm on a flat road.

Anyway went down to cka this morning, and still no sproket yet...so lan lan hav to wait till next week. However, i did change my ignition relay to a racing one to create a stronger spark. Now, my bike can start with just a press on the ignition switch without any need to open the throttle. Will monitor to see if fuel consumption is affected or not.

Cost of racing ignition relay - $75. :cheer:

Wah....go until ayer hitam some more. Must be a strain on your wrist man. Haven tried out the racing ignition yet. Today on mc la so slack at home the whole day. But now the bike can start with just one push of the button...literally!

Anyway, since i didn't adjust my carb settings yet so i dun think will have any major impact xcept that the petrol will burn much better due to a presence of the brighter and hotter spark. So if i do see any singnificant fuel savings next time...then i would say its a worthwhile investment. :hungry:

Think i should change my grips also, anyway this morning start my engine still must throttle a bit. However no to hold on & let go like last time. All i need to do is just bleep the throttle to allow more petrol into the engine. Exhaust air feels stronger also..but it just might be my imagination.

Pick up, u can feel a improvement using the racing ignitor. Haven tried full throttle on the expressway yet though, will keep u all informed once i done it though...

Anyway, u can also get the grips from Chong Aik @ joo chiat lane / Onan Rd. They also offer a wide varieties of acessories including helmets there too.

Cheers!

Hi OkdOkie,

You have to look at the budget practically, i mean...what exactly is your budget? If looks and practiality are concerned, SGD 7k for a first hand bike is relatively ok. Not that its expensive..in fact is affordable considering the fact that Roadwins are built to last with minimum maintanence.

I bought mine (red model with matching red box & helmet) for a total of about $7.3 K OTR. COE value is about $800 for motorbikes now so if COE drops then will be cheaper. Insurance - Second party (bout nearing four hundred if i remember). I downed $1.4k The rest by installments totalling 18 months. Monthly is $354 * 18 months with total compound interest of only about $500.

Of course if you want cheaper installments just extend to 2 or 3 years la which makes it about $270/mnt for 2 year or $188/mnth for 3 year loan based on loan of $5900 at 5% interest per annum with a downpayment of $1.4k. Total compound interest will of course be higher.

Average maintenance for the bike is between $15-30 (depends on what oil you want) provided you regularly sent for servicing between 2000 - 3000 km travelled. Fuel per full tank is about $20 (about 13l for a mileage of around 440km using petrol at $1.50 a litre...still got about 3l of reserve some more).

If you compare this any other 125cc bikes in the market, it is in fact... very affordable. But then again, it is after all, up to you to decide

:goodluck:

Hi lost jackal. hw old are u ? COs i P-plate this yr 21 (not yet 21 though) and i am not sure how much a new bike will cost...Actually was searching around for a 2nd hand cos want to pay 1 shot 3 k den no need to worry bout installments. But saw this bike den now changed my ind on getting phantom/cbr/ybr.

So in total plus road tax insurance3rd party f&T + all the agreement fees and admin stuff that i need to ride on rode, how much is it roughly?

and if go take loan where to go? got anyone loan dun need guarantor...coz my parents still dunno i riding...

Those who can help pls reply...

Hi SlayGay,

As for me, i'm 25. Thinking of getting a Roadwin eh? grinz:

Anywayz, if u decided to get first hand, the cost would be decided on the downpayment u put down. If less than 3K than i would say very heavy due to the loan amt. But the bike shop will take care of everything. All u need is to pay the money & collect the keyz.

However, when i bought my bike, nobody was selling @ that time so i lan lan got a new one :( However, I think maddy84's bike is still up for sale. From his pic, the condition is still like new and best of all, its almost fully modded so at the price he's selling ($5.2K), i'd say its a steal! Contact him for more info.

Regarding your financial situation, you can perhaps call him up and come up to an agreement. What i did to my previous mito when i sold last few years was to write a written agreement with the seller stating that he will pay half up front first and the rest within a specific time frame. A written and signed agreement is a must in case of any saboing of either party (@ least got written proof) He will be under second rider till his loan clears up. Add second rider lesser than 100. Then just go down to LTA to do a tranfer (last time was $40-50 only if i'm not mistaken) THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION Ah... (must put disclaimer or not?)

In the end, it u want to this way, it all boils down to trust. I doubt u can go to a financial agent since u are below 21 and must be employed to get an approved loan. But if u 21 already you can take a loan for a new bike from motordiam. no need guarantor.

P.S. My parents didn't know i was riding only after my fist major accident which happened bout 8 months after pass TP. i was only 19 den. So please do tell them (before or after u get the bike...ur choice) and be responsible. They still nag from time to time but at least if got anything happen, they r the only persons who can really help u in such situations.

btw, Roadwins are very safe provided u ride safe. Same for all bikes.

Cheers! :goodluck:

Assuming u get maddys bike, you negotiate price with him. Once settled both parties will go down to LTA to sign in Transfer Fees. Insurance wise you can scout e different insurance agencies for the best 2nd party (bikes less than a certain time frame....in this case less than a year, no insurance co will offer third party to ANYONE...best bet is second party...i'm also using second party mind u.

As for the price, perhaps u can ask maddy84 while u view his bike. If i'm not mistaken he should be around yr age since he going to NS soon (poor man...lolz). He may be able to give u a better estimation. As for mine, it is about 300 plus for second party.

COE should be no prob for a 7 month old bike. Still got long way to go. Unless u r planning on lets say an RXK...then u would have to enquire from LTA the COE expiry date and whether or not it can be renewed.

Try Alliance, NTUC, Mitsui Insurance agencies and ask for a quotation directly from them and not from any motordiam if u planning to take over so u'll always get the best fair rates.

Dun worry so much about second hand bikes bro. Anywayz, assuming u get maddy's bike in July, the bike still only a year old and from the looks of it he does take care of his bike so no worries. :goodluck:
