just bought another K&N RU-1130 from Roy. He ordered it from the K&N dealer here. Price is $80 (RRP). As mentioned, so far no probs using the filter, in fact actually more savings since it is more fuel efficient comapred to stock, just wanted to get a spare so can just do a hot swap while I clean the old one. Forgot to buy the filter oil though....sigh must go down to the dealer in the end it seems..

Anyone wants to try just call up Roy or cka hq to have it ordered.

sure i will, simple advises shouldn't be any problem.

i do know roy can help u more.

he is the chief mech in cka hq, friendly/helpful.

he will solve any problems u have with rw.

as a new rider, u will find tat rw is not as fast as most 2b bikes.

reasons:

1) it is heavier.

2) it has bigger n fatter tyres.

3) it has a small 125cc or 140cc engine.

4) it is gear to run max speed of

5) it vibs at two zones, 4~5k n >8k rpm.

6) it's fuel consumption is higher due to heavier load, bigger tyres tat have larger road contact patch tractions.

hey, so its a much 'slower' 2b bikes?

actually the truth is, i've not get my license. (yeah make fun of me) i'm now doing my pracs and hopefully can get a license by june or somethin. so i thought why not scouting and finding out more about what bikes i can buy when i finally get my license.

so im pretty new to bikes la... is it really heavy? im using a yamaha ybr 125 at the school. how much heavier is RW? is it really slow in pickin up and all? im not really gonna race with my bike.. but its nice to cruise expressway sometimes at 120km/h or somethin.

so is it a ok beginners bike? worth buying?

beyond23, thanks..

nice to be on this forum too. learn more about daelim and RW.

Was wondering too it Hyosung GT125R is already in SINGAPORE roads. Wanna get something different rather than the usual NSR, CBR & KRR.. Hehe!! It looks big too for a 2B bike. Anyone rides one?

well..is good u started lookin ard 1st..

ur time will be well-invested wen u wana get ur bike..

nahz..it juz a matter of time u get ur license..

ybr 125 dry weight = 106kg

rw 125 dry weight = 135kg

weight not a prob..u getz used to it..

since it heavier..it stable wen @ exp. way..wont wobble..

it 125cc nia..cant expect much..

pickup cant compared wif phantom 200cc & pulsar 180cc..

so is it a ok beginners bike?

of coz..

btw all 2B bikes r ok for beginners..

worth buyin?

rw cost $6k plus..if i wan speed..i can easily get a faster bike than rw wif tat price..

up to each individual..

it depends wat u wan from ur bike..low fc,pickup, top speed or look etc..

actually what i want is a all rounder bike.

looks good, low fc, ok speed, and most importantly, low on maintenance.

the thing is i scared people will make fun of me like, wah a super 4 lookin bike. ferce.. but pick-up and max speed not high. only the outer is fierce.. inside lousy. ya noe, something like that.

unless, RW is tunable? like lots of the tuners cars... cheap honda. but tuned until fast. i mean im not expectin to become sports bike la.. but i dont wan it to be just havin the look but no strength.. imagine i see a wave or sparks or vespa cruise past me. aiyo....

haha

alright fellow daelim rider pls help. i engaged myself in an accident on 7/3/2007 at 6:45pm roughly at bukit batok st 22 on the way to cka ..

this is what happen ...

im going straight to cka motorbike shop..

a junction before cka, it is still green light.. i saw taxi on my right.. alright..

it is my right of way now.. cause im travelling straight..

but who knows the taxi driver turns out neglect my presence..

i bang into the taxi.. i braked already when i see him turning but it is too late. i bang into the taxi left side near to fuel tank 's area..

he is nervous.. quickly got out of his taxi come to me. ask me anything happen 2 me..

im there pointing at my bike saying.. my bike how?

he sae.. doesnt' matter u can claim it from insurance. he ask me anything happen 2 me bike not tat impt.. i sae i dunno not sure.. i give him a stun look cus im really stun dat time..

he quickly call the ambulance.. and civic defense came.. fetch me to NUH.

i been there from 7:30pm to around 11pm then i receive a x-ray . my reports shows im fit to be discharged..

now i wana know is.. my bike which is at the accident sence... how do i get it back? as i already called 999 and ask them bout my bike condition. they sae i can chat with the traffic police..

and also.. the insurance claim.. how do i go bout doing it ?

the uncle is so nervous and keep saeing he is doom , end of work for him.. can retire or something like that..

ok im on 2nd party fire & theft...

can anyone help now?

i been discharged got 3 days medicial leave as i sprain my wraist and bruise my back. lucky im alright but my bike is gone case..

glad tat u r ok with minor injuries.

don't worry so much about the bike.

human body is more important than any machine.

do get his particulars like his insurance, taxi plate.

make a police report about this accident.

ur bike probably still at accident location, call bike ambulance tell them toll to cka-BB.

if not, will be at police compound, they can provide civilian toll services.

check with cka-BB whether can they do the insurance claim against the taxi.

i believe they can do claim on ur behalf, provide particulars to them.

take care, always be aware.

they give me the impression dat they nt really sure

i been to idac and they told me they need insurance certificate i called cka bb up and they told mi they dont have my copy.. idac staff were shocked that they dont have my documentation ..

now i got to get back to mitsui and request for a copy on monday when they reopen..

i am sure that i did not receive any insurance cert from mitsui by mail only i get a cover note.

cka bb uncle ah wing suggest my bike to be bring to the workshop inspect alittle to see whether is there a big damage or small damage to the bike.. if he said, the damage is not great, he ask me there is no need to do any insurance claim..

the insurance claim he talked bout here is it claiming from the taxi driver ( 3 party claim) or from my own insurance company?

im so confuse.. im on 3rd party fire and theft..

and he said if i lose the case, i got to pay for all the things,

all the things he talked about here means what?

the motorbike shop is giving me an impression that they are not sure.. or they message conveyed to me by the uncle is not stable..

could anyone help?

for now i would want to do a claim against the taxi driver because i think im right..

how do i go bout doing this?

if i lose the case, what will happen? do i need to pay for all the surveyors time , etc?

get the original cert from mitsui. third party wont cover for your bike unfortunately.....so ur best bet now is to claim from the taxi driver insurance.

If the assesment based on the police report that you and the taxi driver had made found you guilty of the one causing the accident then you will be entitled for any claims. So your bike repairs will have to be fully paid by you. If they award you with the case then no monetary transactions are needed on your part.

Note however that claims do take a long time to process, so keep that in mind.

If your bike damages are assesed to be not that expensive, den yes it is better that the both of you settle it personally. Ask for a higher compansation from the taxi driver, say ur repair cost is $300, ask him for $500 if he is willing. Think of it as time compensation and get back the medical cost for your injuries from him. This way both of you will be happy and satisfied. Else, just make a claim.

I know it isn't easy being a taxi driver, it may be that the taxi driver that hit you was just too tired and wasn't careful that day. If he is sorry for it and willing to compensate..den y not. Saves both of you time & trouble. :nono:
