ha why best not to change leh? hm, cos some guy PMed me and mentioned that for my bike can take out something from the airfilter to make it better. so was wondering what that is about and if there are any other methods. actually changing sprockets dont do much but allow u to rev higher with less twist of the throttle right?

Hey guys. Here saying hello.

A noobie roadwiner, me. And an uncle one. Never had a bike. Hope to learn how to care this machine and keep it in good stead. I,m sure many here have owned one for several years long and hav mastered the machine like a champion.

Mine is a used bike. Chain and sprocket almost gone... few more mths maybe. Can i hav some advice:

The do's and don'ts....

Which EO to use, where to get... or simply get cka to do it all?

General servicing at around north or best to cka?

Bike doesn't come with tool kit. How much to pay for it. The plug wrench is not like one other bike use, yes, as the plug is seated quite deep.

Appreciate all the info i get fro you fellas. Cheers.

welcome!!!!! roadwin's a cool bike ;)

well, it's just my opinion la. it's not built for a higher speed. usually changing a single part requires counter-tuning, meaning u gotta change some other parts. else, somewhere else may go wrong. of cos, this is not obvious but will show with time. unless the R&D into the design of this bike was not detailed enough, then u can improve on it. but then again, we wont know if it's good design until we tried to mod it rite? eg, stsoh found out the best setting for the mj orifice size, pilot screw turns and sprocket ratio. then again, different settings suit different climate and lifestyle.

unless u r into modding, otherwise, y change? except for going upslope with a rider+pillion wt of 200+ kg, i'm quite happy with my ride's current settings. so... i'm not against modding, it's just my opinion..

oh oh... not sure if i made any sense there. haha. well.. just giving it a shot :thumb:

ha thanks for the input. nah. doesnt really bug me that much.. was just wondering if there is any way to make the bike perform better.

if not, im already contented with my bike =)

actually i have one question. does changing the exhast or modding the exhast improve power (acceleration or top speed)?

u can try 15t front sprocket when u replace sprockets n chain.

gain 5% higher top speed, slightly reduction in pickup.

i'll try that! thanks mr soh

hi bro....how is the top speed??? just keen to know leh....

:bounce:

top speed for me is 130+km/h.. but it takes quite awhile to get there.. it goes to 120km/h quite easily though..

tks for the answer bro...u tell me 130+...that means can go beyond 140 or watt???? then how about the vibration when u reach 130km/h?

tks...

hm, i never really tried like total top speed.. but i guess its 133-135.. dont think can hit 140.. vibration wise even at high rpms it doesnt bother me.. i would say its very good for vibration wise.. should be less vibration compared to most 2b bikes at that speed..

i heard from roy the rwR has a balancer in the engine. i guess tats y vibrations are greatly reduced.

by the way, i read somewhere else in thsi forum tat carrying a pillion will casue a decrease in Fc performance. i pillion 90% of the time, and my pillion and my weight add up to 200kg.. so is tat why i'm not getting 30km/l? but i gotta admit my riding style is not very conservative..

Hey all~!

How's everyone doing? I need to change brake pads. I keep getting chopped as i go from shop to shop. Any goood lobangs?

Nova, you're riding the R125, i assume its the VJ125 similar to the one posted by joh_? EO change every 2000 - 2500. or when you feel rough, whichever is sooner. Not good to let it dry up in the engine.

Sparkies, change around... every 15,000 onwards. Unless you're using the NGK Iridium ones which can last to around 60,000 - 70,000. One plug for hte lifetime of the bike. Hehe...

I saw a orange RoadwinR this morning at yishun.. with a box. practical, but a bit ugly. so pls RwR users, use a tank bag instead.

Oh, I'm heading for servicing either this Fri or next monday at CKA HQ. Change EO, Filter and probly brake pads too.

Oh, i dun reco those fanciful pipes. At the end of the day, its a Roadwin with 125 cc of displacement and 15 horses in the engine max. Mod here and there, probly will improve by one horse or so.

Better pickup, but same top speed. Higher FC, compared to stock too...

Save the 650 to renew your insurance for next year. If you still wanna spend it, you can choose to help me renew mine... *LOL*

Cheers everyone.

i always change at 2000km at cka hq.

i started the engine of the rwR fitted with ixil.. i gotta say it sounds nice for a single piston bike. imho, better than the ninja250 fitted with aftmarket exhaust.. haha. ok.. mayb i'm exaggerating... hehe :cheeky:
