based on the seal btwn plates of rollers n pins to kept grease within.

"O" shape for o-rings, this is only one point of contact btwn plates.

"X" shape for x-rings, this is has two points of contact btwn plates.

better seal to keep the grease inside the rollers.

i did remove one link from 'O'-ring after one year of usage n inspect.

'O' ring is still in good condition but inside roller n pin r completely void of grease, dry n rusty.

additional notes:

latest chain has "WX" shape rings which has three points seal contacts btwn plates, provide better seal to keep grease within rollers. but there is a minor setback, this is when rings r harden or no lubrications will make sound cause by friction.

in other words, the more the contact points, the better it is?

is there a difference in terms of chain loosening rate?

wads the difference btw water cooled and liquid cooled?

well i guess Water cooling is a method of heat removal from components. As opposed to air cooling, water is used as the heat transmitter. Water cooling is commonly used for cooling internal combustion engines in automobiles

i guess so i nt very sure... water cooled jus came to my head like u can use plain water to cool can le... where as liquid cool is like those coolen u buy to add to yr bike... i nt very sure forgive me if i got it wrg! hehe :cheeky:

but then again... LOL water aka liquid ... soooo yeaaaaa nt very sure... any one can educate me abit im a nub! hahah

well if its 14K or 13K omg i still i jus stay wif my rwR lol but lets say its 14K next time u sell the money still there cause of the branding YAMAHA! where as rwR wun even get u money back .. lol well bigger tank n better FC thats wad im looking at nw! lolx hope de rwR wun disappoint me anytime soon! UP! FOR DAELIM! lolx cant wait to get my hands on my bike! roars!!!

same FI engine as yzf125.

does tat mean it produces the same hp??????

in other words, the only difference btw the fz150 n yzf125 is the weight/power ratio and the aerodynamics?

the intention is to prevent internal lubrication from expelling off due to centrifugal forces.

seal ring has evolved from 'O' > 'X' > 'W' > 'WX' shape, of course the latest seal ring r better.

so far, lower range like 428 pitch chain, 428 rk 'X'-ring is the only one tat i seen.

the rest r high end, normally found for big bikes.

u still need to spray chain-lub to keep the chain in good condition.

elongation or stretch chain depends on the tensile/elasticity strengths of the roller/pin/plate materials.

rk 'X'-ring chain in the advert claim several times more than 'O' ring chain.

even if it two times more than 'O' ring chain, it's worth a try.

got it.. thanks!

YZf r125 is seriously not worth the money.. 14k can get a BRAND NEW GSR 400 or S4 sia.. i must say it looks damn bloody good for a 2B bike.. But wats the point of getting a 14k 2b bike but can't "run"?

Might as well top up 2-3k buy RS125 or mito.. better..

Posted

yea.. i dont mind paying up to maybe 9k - 10k for a nice looking 2b bike.. but anything above that has to perform to be worth my money... especially a 2b bike which has a higher possibility of the owner selling it away in the future.. thats alot of money to be playing with.

i saw a black r125 at a red traffic light tat day.. i was doing a right turn in his direction. after i make my turn, i looked at my mirror and saw it just behind me, then it went past me. nothing much to comment except it has good pickup.

i guess the pickup should be the same as my bike ba.. which i feel is not bad.. can still keep up with those scrams at traffic lights when it turns green.. but i guess yamaha wanted the selling point of r125 90% looks and 10% performance.. lol

[\quote]The 'fairings' are S4.. the headlamp is a Sonic, $35 (with installation) at the "auntie" shop next to LAB.

Bro how much would the "fairings" cost on average??

Eyy.. I dunno man.. Really.

But i would daresay set aside around $50 should be enough. IF you happen to have any excess from that, consider it a bonus for your next oil change.

Anyway.. Super noob question (which I should be able to answer by now, but i'm still asking...) how often to change oil?

Now that my 6 months warranty just expired.. I dun think I want to change oil that often. 4K is it, mr soh? Using chex 9000 will it be rough by then? Cos i change my chex EO at around 2,200 km on average (actually 2000km need to change, but i like to procrastinate a bit).

Anyway cka-hq has brought in castrol 10w50 for $25 per litre. more ex than the chex 9000 which goes for $23. if anyone happen to try the castrol, can update?

Last update abt castrol EO from Stsoh, is that it's very rough and lasted him 800km only.

new rw carb/air-cool model with dual shock absorbers in korea not as good looks as the old model using rear mono shock absorber (see pics).

i guess it is more reliable, my shock absorber bolt broke b4.

i think it's abt time they do some RnD on RW.. haha. when i pillion and the weight causes the shocks to do down, i super scared the rear hugger will scratch the top part.. i guess with dual shocks, things would be better...

true la.. but seriously, if i had the money, i would go for the r125. first being the gers wont know the difference, to them, it just looks cool. secondly, maintenance would be slightly more hassle free compared to rs125. if i wan power n looks, i wouldn't get it at this stage.. would wait until i get my class 2a n above... speaking of which.. i cant wait for my class 2b's one year probation to end.... LOL
