just did tappet clearance after 50,000 km on odometer.

clearance still good but itching hand n adjust it.

according to 2004 roadwin service manual tappet clearance for inlet n outlet valves r 0.12mm (+-0.02).

problem is couldn't find 0.02mm increment feeler gauge, only 0.05mm increment feeler gauge available.

no problem can adjust to 0.10mm is still within spec.

engine run smooth n quieter but on the road, engine suffocating, lacking power.

readjust to tappet clearance to 0.15mm which is 0.01mm out of service spec.

when engine is hot, valve stems will expand n clearance will be within spec.

on the road, engine breath better n run better.

in the event, when u need to do tappet clearance.

set it to 0.15mm when engine is cold.

well, tappet clearance is the gap between the rocker n top of valve stem.

it is part of maintenance check indicated in the service manual.

since i have not do tappet clearance check till 50,000 km.

n it is still within it's service limits.

u can ignore it, unless it sound bad.

tat mean if your engine running with loud tapping sound.

hi aeykel, welcome.

there r a few 2nd second rw at cka-hq.

y not buy a 2nd bike instead of a new one.

unless u plan to keep it for 10 yrs till scrap.

anyway, new bike depends on COE bid price (ard $1k).

S$7.5k, did u ask cka is it OTR (on-the-road)?

otr means include insurance+coe+road tax+iu unit legally ride on the road.

previously iu unit r quote together with bike.

currently it seem like a trend bike shops r exclude iu unit (to cut cost extra S$150++).

once coe is obtain, processing a bike is fast if u pay in full cash.

mostly likely u can get it within two working days.

but for loan installment, u need to wait for it to be approve.

hi aeykel,

in addition, rw is not a fast bike.

it's a older model top speed is 110kph.

two strong vibrating zone at 4~5k n >8k rpm.

why not get the new latest sport rwR model tat cost a bit more?

it has more power n smoother engine.

no point getting a new rw if u r not getting the latest.

rwR (roadsport) is the latest model, rw with cloth on.

rwR is EFI (electronic fuel injection), fc is better than rw.

check garage sale, used bike section.

i believe there r couple of rw on sale.

here's one:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220855

anyway rw fc (fuel consumption) is not the best in 2b cat.

my current richly tuned carb avg fc is 26 km/l.

stock is probably avg 30 km/l if u don't speed.
