i seem to have a problem with my oem chain. not sure its because my mainstand the rubber piece came out before and i had to ride a short distance home (100-200m?) with the stand totally pushing against the chain. this happened quite awhile back but now i seem to have to tighten the chain very frequently. i go to cka to tighten. also, some parts of the chain are looser than others. wonder if my chain is damaged?

at the point in time when roy fixed my mainstand problem, he told me my chain was okay. but seems like it really gets loose too frequently now..

chain is ok.

all chain stretches r uneven, some sections will stretch more.

u can learn how 2 do chain adjust yourself.

it's quite easy, u need two 12 mm spanners, one 17 mm n 21 mm spanners.

most top end 428 pitch chain have 5,500 lbf tension.

oem chain do stretch easily when it is pull past it's elasicity point.

hm, do u happen to know y the chain needs tightening so much? seems abit odd to me. it gets loose in like a week or two..

once it start to stretch often means it's past material elasicity point.

new set of chain+sprockets like RK x-ring will last longer.

take a look at the tensile strength column, WX-ring has the highest tensile (6170 lbs) for 428 pitch.

might as well use RK WX-ring chain so u don't have to adjust chain frequently.

besides the point abt chain goin past its elastic limit, may i add also that with chain lube n maintenance, i believe the chain can last longer.
