Managed to try out the elf xt eo juz now. Not bad. Compared to Castrol R4, slight improvement changing gears, not so rough. Acceleration was a bit slower but find the bike was running much smoother @ 100kph/7900rpms.

Now the ultimate test, to see if it is still smooth after 2000 clicks. R4 will loose its smoothness especially in changing gears/neutral at around the same distance.

Price wise...elf is definitely waaay cheaper than R4....even inclusive of the $5-6 service charge  You save at leat 5 bucks bringing you own oil.

i think 4k is a bit too long considering we travel mostly in a stop and go situation unless ur house & destination just beside the exit/entrance to a highway.

A more realistic distance would be 2500-3000km travelled.

Anywayz, i think the elf oil is way much better. I was travelling to work thru PIE @ 100kph. BUT my rpm was only 7500...on an slight incline (before sims drive) somemore! :giddy: Usually it would be around close to 8000rpms at that speed. Now 8000rpms and i'm close to 110kph (around 107 range)

Btw my sproket set up is 15/40

:lovestruck:

4,000km = 2,485.5miles

most oil manufacturers recommends stop/go oil change interval at 3,000miles (aprox. 5,000km).

if it is long haul trips like touring or travelling along highway more often then oil change interval at 5,000 miles (aprox. 8,000km).

u r actually quite safe, also no harm in changing oil frequently.

like the saying goes "Fresh oil is better than dirty oil, much better than no oil". :thumb:

so any oil manufacturer wats is the recomended oil change for semi synth??? cos most manual only say 4000km change oil, but neber state which oil...

i believe most will change at 3,000km for any brands of semi-synthetic oil.

don't take my words, u might want to do a search on the webby.

like bmw, they don't recommend API "SJ' spec becos lack wear protective additives like zinc, magnesium, calcium, phosphate, sulphate, etc.

i using motul semisynth, 10w-40, for about 2500km on my bike... the gear changing not smooth already  ... thinking of trying to stretch to 4000km and see if can last... most mech recomend using semisynth on old bikes....
