Coz u need to compensate for the bigger circumference of the tyre. It would be like downsizing the sproket ratio by another tooth. Oso, fatter tyres means more stability at the expense of pick up for small cc bikes.

So far i think the tyres can last quite a while if u keep them pressurized properly. If the tyre is under inflated, it'll cost excessive wear to ur tyres so keep it inflated at the recommended pressure. So far after six months, the tyres looks like it can last another six more.

Planning to change to Pirelli dragons once they're worn. :lovestruck:

If u plan to change tyres @ cka, please make sure that they have stock before hand. They will help to order the tyres (e.g Pirelli tyres) provided u tell them at least two days in advance.

If any one needs to change tyres, try this out from Pirelli:

Pirelli MT75

It's cheaper than dragons and is more suited for small cc roadsters like roadwins.

lostjackal have u check out the price of the tyres u recommended me? how much is one set?

Btw anyone of you got any ideas on bike stickers to paste on this bike? Thought of pasting a few on the part where they paste the super 4 stickers...

Go Bedok North 500 plus market. Theres a sticker shop near the 7-eleven. They can even make a custom sticker for u. I'm not sure bout the price of the MT75.

Last time i bought a set of Dragons was $380 and dat was 7 years ago! So really i'm not sure.

i was riding a racer last time la dats why need to pamper the bike with expensive tyres..heh.. Oso i remember Pirelli just introducing the dragons when i bought them so it as the recommended retail price for the set of tyres @ that time.

Performance wise....lets just say u can corner like Valentino Rossi if u use the tyres even though ur riding skills sucks :giddy:

thanks for the info. Btw just a query.. Today i was riding home den when i kicked to 3rd gear.. and release clutch .. The bike just stalled.. I might have thrown clutch or what not v sure ..But just wondering if any other thing else might have an effect? Like no proper warming up of bike or what? Gear prob? cos i also occasionally have probs like gear lever getting stuck (must keep depressing and release clutch to allow the gear lever to be mobile again).

Last time when i wasusing Castrol, os experienced the same symptoms if i didn't warm up the bike for more than 2-3 minutes. It usually happens around the time u just started to move off or when u u are riding at low rpms (3000 - 5000). The problem is due to warm up duration. If u have time, run the engine till it feels warm, then move off normally.

Btw..After changing to elf, i haven had such problems.... yet.

This problem oso always faced with Castrol R4. So far i've seldom encountered this problem after switching oil. If u do a sudden stop from gear 3 onwards, the gears will get jammed from time to time, other bikes will oso have this problem.

The elf oil is 10W50 100% syn. I asked soh to get for me 2 bottles when he went over to the house of the guy whos selling them.

FQ RW? Could be the guy kept his old no plate. since the earliest RW are all FX plate.

Sproket change for both was 50 bucks. 20 front and 30 rear. U should just change front sproket (15/42) its more than enuf since maddy already emptied the muffler and changed the front exhaust. That way u'll be able to red line ur engine. Mine cant pass 9000 rpms if u decided to change to the 15/40 setup.

As long as u're a regular, shouldn't be a problem. Since ur a newbie, try not to ask them if ur bike got any problems, can check my carb, can see if my tyre are worn out etc etc.... most prob they'll ask u to change sumthing that doesn't need changing. Same applies to all shops!

Once they know u a little better or they know u have at least a respectable street knowledge about bikes..than u can ask them regarding such matters when u do ur servicing.
