Just get a second hand Givi box from any bike shop. They sell dirt cheap if u use your existing mounting bracket. I bought mine second hand from my fav old school bike shop at blk 88 Bedok North for $40.

but you must have the mounting bracket installed already la.

hello bro.....i know that u have learnt more about this bike name roadwin...

actually i just bought a new roadwin a few weeks ago....and hereby i got something to ask u about this bike....

The question is as follows:

1. My oil meter slightly reach to an end.But the problem is the meter stay there for quite some time and i was wondering how come this happen? Should i put to reserve mode or leave it like normal or wait till the meter goes to an END marks.

2. I just change engine oil after 500km....so the next change is 1500km....and after that 3500km....and the following changes is every 2000km...is that true bro?

3. How about the battery?Do i need to recharge it after certain months? And how long does the battery could last bro???

THANKS.....

I hope i will get a proper answer from u then....

i believe u r talking about fuel meter, not oil (as for oil is wat we called "dipstick").

fuel meter is not accurate, it indicates empty n still has about 6 litres in the tank.

the tank capacity is 16 litres (including reserve 1.1 litre), if u want to show a more accuracy low level.

u need to remove the float sensor n bent it's wire stem 10 degree downwards.

i did this on my own n when it is empty i got more accurate indications (about 3 litres left).

i did the first two oil change as recommended by mech, first service @ 500km then second service @ 500+1500km (odometer indicated 2000km).

recommend u use good oil tat u can afford.

third service @ odometer indicated 4000km.

after tat i follow the manual recommendation which is every 4000km (odomemter indicates 8,000, 12,000, 16,000, 20,000km).

as the saying goes: "fresh oil is better than dirty oil which is not as worst as no oil". :cheeky:

battery is MF type (maintenance free), tat means u don't have to worry about battery water level.

don't have to charge the battery if u ride your bike every day.

if u don't ride for more than a week, it is adviseable to disconnect the battery.

battery life can last 2~3 years, so it is adviseable to change it every two years.

:cheeky:

ok bro...thanks a lot....

Q: 1. if let say the tank left about 6 litres, how many km can my bikes go?

then izzit i must put to reserve or how???

2. regarding the removable of the float sensor, can u do it for me bro???

i going back at 1030pm tonight....

if possible can u do it for me tomorrow morning....

u can call me at 62587466 or 68905570 { off } and my name is

JAMIL

Thanks a lot bro for the information....i still got a lot more to ask u...

Izzit possible to talk through the phone....

could u leave yr contact number HERE!!!!

May God Bless You...

on avg fuel consumption is about 30km/l, depends on how u ride it.

on a full tank during engine breakin (less 6000 rpm), i can travelled 550km.

my f/c is about 35km/l then but now it is 28km/l (enriched my carburator for faster pickup), now travelled 430km b4 switching to reserve.

need ur tank to be below half fill.

Wah lan deh.....just now i went to buy raincoat at a bike shop near my work place....and what do u know! Its actually the hyosung distributor.....so went over to see the comet 125 and 250 range...from the initial look of it, the comet is much bulkier than the roadwin. Also, the gold inverted fork only comes in the 250 cc. The 125 cc also has the same telescopic fork as the rw.

Ask the sales staff regarding the price of the bike:

125cc ----> 6.0K OTR

250cc ----> 6.8K OTR

They oso sell the China Zheng Sheng or whateva u call it bike

Make it a habit to use the tripmeter to gauge your fuel reading oso....Usually when the fuel needle hit rock bottom (about 350-380km travelled), then it is advisable to switch to reserve. Initially oso want to bend the stick oso but to lazy

Btw...my front no. plate bracket oso needs a weld job...:sian:

Same like soh....crack oso but i didn't hear any sound...juz happened to noticed while starting the bike up after work

Jamil,

U got the 150cc model or the 125cc model? Saw one of the mech prepping a new 125cc black model 2-3 weeks ago for a customer who just bought it. Could be yours?

only turn to reserve when u run out of fuel, the last litre is enough for u to find the next petrol station.

remember to turn back to normal again when top up, read owner's manual page 24.

thanks bro for the very helpful answer from u...

MAY GOD BLESS U then...

Ya...agree.

A lot of ppl say it is more worth to buy a Hornet 250 than buying a S4. Any ideas how much is the Hornet 250, maybe can upgrade to that a few years later. I still want to keep my rw for at least another 3-4 years
