raden,

reserve is for emergency when out of fuel, it's purpose is to let u ride the last litre to a petrol station n top up fuel.

as for when to top up base on the fuel guage, like wat lostjackal have say b4, when the needle falls beyond the red mark (stock n not tempted fuel gauge).

i hope this will ease your mind. :cheeky:

actually is there any diff if u shift the knob to reserve earlier. Wont like have any adverse effect right. Coz if u already know the dist can go. just use trip meter can already. the fuel gauge can actually ignore.

raden why dun u go top up now. den can do the calculation now if u really want to be on the safe side. my 1 i just pumped. REached the E i travelled 277 km den i top up only 10.5 L. and i havent done the adjustment that stsoh did to the fuel guage pin. So dun worry can run at least 400 full tank.

Posted

I pumped 10.45 L for 277 km. So 26.5km/L full tank should be about 424 km including reserve. So i think must switch on to reserve when reach about 380-390 to be on the safe side.

I top up at Mobil Joo Chiat just now. 13.55l for 419.5km which makes it to......drum roll...

30.95 km/l. Average gear shift at 5k rpms. Din get to JB cause not enough fuel...later like that day ah Mr Soh  Anyway. 20% discount so still ok la..

I think Soh posted an article regarding 2valve and 4valve engine some time ago...4 valve engines have better performance in the mid range where else 2 valves are stronger on the low range and flat out once it reaches the mid range.

So you can take advantage of the 4 valve engine by shifting gears within the mid range (6-7k rpm range) This is also why RWs seems like they have a power valve installed coz you can feel the bike surging in the mid range but quite flat in the low range. Correct me if i'm wrong here please.....its just my guess

hmmm ok bro....nice to see u again in this SBF....

i hope u r in good condition....

ok...well...just now around @2010hrs, i went to the MOBIL station to pump oil.

My trip meter stated 328km/h and my fuel gauge needle now exactly at the E

marks. So after i top up full, i took down and write on a piece of paper.

litres: 10.324

dollars: $17.52

so i make my own calculation that means before top up there r still 5.68l

more inside am i rite bro...if 1 liter can travel 33km...so that means i can

travel 187.44km more??? am i rite bro....that means 328+187=515

is that true or false????

can u specify with me now....thanksss..

travel distance = 328 km.

topped up fuel = 10.324 litres.

fuel consumption:

328/10.324 = 31.77 km/l

remainder fuel left b4 reserve:

16 - 10.324 - 1.1 (reserve) = 4.576 litres

tat means u can travel another 145 km b4 reserve.

your reserve can last another 35 km.

hmm ok bro....thanks a lot....i thought u fall asleep already....

bo piyenlah....have to work nite this week.....wat to do..........

ok bro....regarding the headlight protector, a few weeks back

i did go to AH BOY shop to check with them about the products

but one of the assistant told me that beginning of july, there will

be a new headlight protector coming in that can suit with all bikes

that using a round headlight. That means u don't have to change the

front light nor the signal light because this product just need a simple

bracket and just fix in.So do u go to AH BOY shop today? If u go there

can u check for me the products and at the same time the price also?

thanks bro....

Just bought a ff helmet from choong aik yesterday...my old ff gone case liao.... fibreglass kevlar material GPR FF -- $100. No PSB sticker though. Although i did see an approved No Lan FF clearing for $100 onli. Mind you, it's a bit dusty in the cushioning though...God knows how long it has been on the shelves

I prefer getting my accessories there then from LAB coz more friendly service unless i need those kind of special parts la...

Hi Guys,

Went down to cka this morning since my bike had to push start. Seems that it wasn't the rectifier or the voltage regulator OR the battery that was unservicable. Rather it was the STARTER MOTOR.

Fortunately, the bike is still under warranty so they replaced the motor FOC. Cost of starter motor ---> $200 +. :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

Many thanks to cks for honouring their warranty claims. Some shops won't be so straight with theirs.....so be warned

Saw the new RW X5 model. The engine is a 140+cc engine. The one i saw seems to have an EGR installed. So it could be that the machine was meant for the Euro market b4 Daelim decides to manufacture one without the EGR for the local market.

I do like the new logo sticker though :lovestruck:
