yappp... i know that i have not contributed anything in this forum cos my knowledge about this bike is less compare to u.If u wanna know let me tell u bro cos this is the first time i am riding a 4 stroke bike....So far previously i am riding 2 stroke .... that's why i ask a lot in this rw forum.If u think that u don't like to read my Q then it is better for u not to answer my Q ... am i rite??? Maybe some other ppl might help me who knows...

There is no replacement for displacement. Your horse can't fly even if u give it better food.

 

you want to ride a faster bike, you change to a more powerful bike. as simple as that.

 

what stsoh is recommanding is bringing out the best of the bike. We 'mod' our bikes so it can achieve certain level of performance, be it fuel consumption or pick up that we want.

 

I think I rather see those kind of useful contribution rather than some senseless ego-sh*t of my-bike-must-hit-140kph

now, i over heard a bunch of my friends talk about power card in the exhaust or sumthing... what's power card all about.? and is there power card in the rw/x5???

 

plus, currently, i saw some super 4 with black fork. it looks like it's a cover or sumthing. is it? if it is, how much does it cost???

Raden, no matter what reaching 140 kph in RW is not impossible....uncle soh noes that coz he met one m'sian bro did it by modding the timing slot and maybe some other parts. But, however, to make a 125cc go 140 kph...one needs to consider horse power...power to weight ratio, bike weight, rider's weight and size.....just like horse riding la....small jockeys obviously can make horse gallop faster since they light as a feather, got good technique, never had sex the night before etc etc :smile:

What uncle soh ask if that we all be realistic....not all of us have a jockey body or size....

 

Uncle Soh...also don't know everything...nobody does la, we can see that from the articles he found on the net and shares wif us his modifications and the results...but we have to respect that he has experience in mechanical stuffs. Also, he's a veteran rider. Even then, there are things that he noes and dun noe...Some things learn by trial and error. My riding experience only 7-8 yrs but i started to learn some things as years pass by. Even learning about carbs i learn a lot from uncle soh, roy, my old mech, internet etc etc.

 

We also have to respect our abang raden la...bike still like showroom condition :cheeky:

Update on mainjet #95.

 

So far, the performance is acceptable... I am able to get my 33 km/l back. :cheer:

However, as uncle soh has pointed out, main jet only affects 3/4 throttle above, so if u riding in congested road most of the time...u'll prolly be in 1/2 - 3/4 throttle most of the time...so best to adjust your needle clip to slot 2 instead of 3 to reduce fc :goodluck:

 

So far, managed to hit 115 kph on eway using main #95...using Esso 4T Gold....Castrol really suxxx

Issit the black plastic guard in the middle? Thats to guard the fork against dirt and debris when riding from the front

 

Powercard?.....powerla....guess in big new bikes got la..never heard b4...powervalve got heard b4. RW still considered a basic and simple bike in terms of its engineering design.

Guys... please this thread is about the Roadwin 125/X5.

 

Dun make it a personal vendetta thread. All of respect each others posting but please dun go too far by lashing out spiteful or hateful words... If u just dun like someones postings just ignore it.

 

This thread has existed for more than a year now...so please lets keep it going on longer!

 

Let's just focus on making the RW a more pleasant/garang/chio/sporty etc bike that we all want it to be. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

 

P.s. Roy has mentioned that Daelim has a part catalogue that allows 125cc to upgrade to a 140cc (top end kit). But he has yet to receive it. So....lets just wait for the good news. :lovestruck:

oh ya, the black fork is not exactly black fork, is like the bottom part of the fork which the tyres is in between, yeah, that part black. i think it's like a cover or sumthing which covers the whole thing.. is that available at shops??? do u noe roughly how much it cost?

I still prefer the old school 125 model color....:smile:

 

Modding it to a 140cc for me would be beneficial as i often pillion my girlfriend...we all know small bikes tend to loose power significantly when extra weight is added.

 

So that extra 1hp will be very beneficial indeed. :cheer:

 

I think that u are referring to the fork guard...i dun remember seeing bikes with guards near the end of the fork...unless they are using inverted forks

You could call up personally and ask.. should still remain relatively constant unless got newer version of Roadwin :smile:

 

Another way to save some money is to wait for COE to drop.

hi im new to this forum and thread. I am looking into purchasing a roadwin within the next 8 months so i want to know all there is to this bike.

 

i would love to obtain a video or a sound clip of how the stock roadwin's exhaust sounds like. Could any of you guys do that? thanks alot in advance!

Dunno bout that la...have to wait and see. Anyway i won't be upgrading the cc so soon as well...maybe after 40-50 000 km...just nice for a top end overhaul
