come on uncle soh... it's jus a small fly prying for problems... i gonna buy my bike soon and if i wan ask question n know more, i have none to look for.. exceptfor the others la.but u know alot. "don't bec of the a******, the soldiers will stop fighting for the country". by stopping to contribute, u r letting him win..

come on, ya, can u remember my first postings??? i said i like it here cause the peopleare friendly... that's including u stsoh... :cheer: lets move on..:cheer:

Uncle Soh....good to see u here again. :cheer:

 

Anyway, back to our Roadwins.....i am gonna set the eclip back to 2 from 3. (leaner)

While on eway, the f/c is very good at 75% 3/4 throttle (33 km/l), i find that on stop and go, f/c is BAD :giddy: (drop to 25-27 km/l)

 

I will try to do the change and observe the f/c on stop and go traffic. F/C should drop and with main jet #95.....power and f/c may be distributed more evenly. Note that this may not be on stock 125cc RWs.

 

The closest mod config to mine is slaygray with the exception of the modded spark ignitor. Slaygray, would be great if u could provide your RW config. so can compare.

 

Uncle Soh, last time u took out the eclip, must the tank cover be unfastened as well? :confused:

Hey guys u can add me to ur list of Roadwin owners... :cheeky:

 

Anyhow can u guys help me with a few questions I have...

 

From the thread I realize that the bike can only hit 110kph but my bike starts "crying" even b4 it hits a 100... Seems the engine rev is very high at 8000rpm but the bike is ony at 90... What's wrong have u guys encountered the same problem? The mechanic says that something is wrong with the clutch or something and replacement costs $80 bucks...

 

The thing is my bike is only 10 months old not even a year and crap like this is happening... Am I getting ripped off? Also the rear brake is very noisy and I think is rubbing my rear tyre since even when I put it on the main stand and roll the tyre it's noisy and seems like its jammed... this too the mechanic says is due to normal road conditions that dust and grime gets stuck in between the disc brakes and clogs it up... he pulling my leg again?

 

I have been riding Suzuki GN125 for 5 years now and that FL plate bike has no such problems with accelerating to 120kph or the rear brake issue coz if on main stand and spun it spins like butter and that is a 10 year old plus bike ok...

 

So how brothers? Do u think I kena already from this mechanic anyway I can only take it to the dealership if not warranty void... Do you guys have this similar problem? Help please reply... Thanks...

Most prolly its a jammed rear brake like Slaygray. The speeds compared to rpm u mentioned are normal in stock setup. And the Rw is noisy pass 9000 rpms. 8000 rpms is still ok but u need to change sprokets to 15/40 or 15/42....whichever suits u to have a comfortable eway ride.

 

GN 125 can run top 110 kph...it's got very inaccurate speedo....my friend rode one FL plate too :smile:

My bike sporcket is 15 front 40 back as recommended by uncle soh. The previous owner cleared the exhaust. My consumption used to be 31-33 km/L. Now dropped to 28-30km/l. Guess could be either due to my changed riding habit or engine oil. Was wondering if addding the addictives into the engine oil will help. will update u guys again. No other mods from me other den appearance. I can reach 100km/h at about 7.5 rpm. usually try not to go further den that coz scared will damge engine.

 

Btw roy has been persuading me to change my exhaust back to stock . Told me it will improve my bikes overall performance.Guys what do u think. Its like 80 bucks for a 2nd hand. NOt v worth it at all.

It shouldnt be rear brake jam as u still can move . The last time i had rear brake jam, it was because of the spring. U can feel it when u depress the rear brake pedal. U will feel that the free play has increased by a lot as compared to the original stock one. To confirm put bike on main stand and roll it, if jam . the wheel wont move. Also u can smell a burning smell from the disc brakes when u travel after a long dist.

 

I used to have this sound of the brake disc rubbing against the pads. Den i think roy helped me adjust it. Go to the mech and show him. He should be able to help u fix it.

I think it is better to change back to old muffler coz cka did a mistake by spearing a hole in the end can. Changing the muffler head may actually help performance by giving back some back pressure.

 

I think the modified exhaust will suit pretty well for end cans that have been modified as per stsohs method.

 

Ask how much is the original and check the proposed $80 2nd hand header if the chrome is sill in good condition. If the new original costs > 200, and the second hand one still looks good then i guess it's worth it

Hi Mr Soh,

Was at CKA just now and Roy told me that I just missed you.. was there to change blown tailight..

 

I totally forgot about the fuel gauge and had pumped another full tank.. perhaps later in the week will contact you about it..

BTW Thanks for the help again yesterday. The current config (eclip slot 2 mj 95) seems to be playing nicely compared to eclip @ slot 3 with mainjet 95
