Hi Scoots Bro,

Will like to ask the definition of Full Servicing? I saw many variation but around the same price of 200. However what's included seems to vary by an arm's length.

1) Belt

2) Rollers

3) EO

4) Gear Oil

5) Washing of Carbs?

6) Washing of Clutch?

7) Tuning of Carbs?

What else?

Dec 2005 - Sep 2007 Honda NSR 150 SP FS3*45M

Sep 2007 - Apr 2010 Honda CBR 400 RRL

Apr 2010 - Sep 2010 Yamaha X-1

May 2013 - Apr 2014 Kymco Grand Dink 150

Apr 2014 - ~~~ Kymco Downtown 300i

May be should call it Major service.

I'm a no-brainer for scooter maintenance, hope other veterans can share also. :)

Probably we could include brake pads? Brake fluid? Wheel bearing?

Btw, does scooter has gear oil?

Posted

Yes most scooter uses gear oil. Brake fluid recommended to change every year or two, unlike the other servicing where u usually look at mileage. Wear parts like brake pads or bearings etc. are replace as needed parts. Maybe during major service, just ask the mech to check them.

The bike manual may be the best guide as when to do what after how long / how many km.

I think you've got your answer already.

Just wanted to add:

1) Regular servicing is every 3,000 - 5,000 (depending on the type of engine oil you use). I'd strongly recommend fully synthetic.

2) Full servicing is every 12,000.
