Hey fellow bikers!

 

Just to share, I had just done my inspection last Saturday (1 June 2013).

M riding a super 4 with a Yoshimura full system. The inspection officers

took a digital photo of my vehicle on the exhaust side. I was curious and

asked why is that necessary. He responded that it is for the recording

purposes, beside (pointing his finger) he directed my attention to another

tri-pot mounted CCTV-look alike cam. The officer said that, upon scanning his

staff pass, another photo will be taken and download instantly to the LTA HQ.

 

The LTA mobile officers will carry out carpark inspection to identify any form of

exhaust modification. I was also told that some exhaust full-systems are

generically non-approved type (i.e. legal end-can + after market 4-2-1 header).

Using a non-approved header with a LTA approved end cans = illegal and might

command a fine and court appearance. Two years ago I was tempted to install

the Blue Flame system but was held back because there were no LTA approved

full-system as the shop offered an after market stainless steel type for +$600.

At the time I was really desperate for a full system (make hell of a difference

as I was suffocating from the downgrade from a ducati & VFR to a humble super 4

) and I dont wish to break the laws which was why I stood firm with Yoshi.

 

All in all, I was glade that I made an excellence choice for a legal full system as I

didnt expect polices to change -having LTA officers raiding our carpark...no privacy!

 

If you are using a illegal system, now you know what LTA are really up to, your move!

It is not will or will not, it is about when, they hunt ya down, hahaha!

This is normal. It also happened to my friend when his STI went for inspection.

 

One day, he finger itchy take out silencer since he already got his cert. Then he kena stopped by LTA once, the officer got the photo from HQ & showed my friend, to prove that he took out silencer! So he got cert also no use!

I just passed inspection today with Blueflame exhaust.

 

Saw a fellow Super 4 rider who failed badly. The Inspectors were saying he already failed at Kaki Bukit but did not bring the documents that Kaki Bukit gave him. Then I overheard them saying they have to fail him because he changed his tail (Spec 3) + fender eliminator. They also highlighted that modifications to the vehicle's body can result to a "force scrap"!!!

 

Then saw another uncle fail inspection because of the flower disc brake.

 

Nowadays everything can't pass!

Put box also not original, Fail... brake pad from ah boy Fail. Head light must use osram warm white, use Hella wan fail. Tall Wind shield not original Fail! FAIL FAIL FAIL

 

WTF... Exhaust mod and engine mod, I can understand, Now cosmetic mod also cannot. one of these day paste sticker also Fail.

Go to Changi Vicom, in my experience they are the easiest inspectors. My pulsar high beam was not working because the control unit was spoilt, I spent 100$ to fix the control unit just for the inspection. After that I went for the inspection and the inspector didnt even try the high beam or horn. :dozed: In fact he made me ride the bike on the rollers and only asked me to turn on the left and right indicators. The whole inspection finished in like 2 mins. I felt simply wasted the 100$ on the control unit, as I never use high beam and ride only in the day.

 

But I have to say since it is pulsar, they may take it easy, but certain bikes may make their eyes wide open, lol.

True also....engine oil not original FAIL, tyre not original FAIL, brake pad not original FAIL.

What do you mean put box also fail??? How about bikes that doesn't come with box by default? Meaning that we can no longer put box behind our bikes now??? :dot:

HAha bro i making fun of the inspection centre... so many restrictions and it is getting unreasonable... soon they will need mech to get certificate to install box to prevent danger of falling off. Just a thought.

Kaki bukit vicom is really damn strict. I just failed this afternoon because my scorpion end can had the diffuser removed. My first fail in 3 years. Passed at vicom BB twice previously.

I think it's not the issue with location. At Kaki Bukit, is there any additional camera "filming" or "photo-taking" the inspection process?

now LTA are very clever now.. they know wat the bikeshop is doing and they know wat the biker are up to. So rider jus take care and dont over do ur bike...

Usually, won't test high beam. Other things yes. U should not have fix it. Hw often do u use? But if sway sway, the authority asked during inspection, can just act blur and avoid, as I believe other important parts are functioning well? Seriously, 100$ can do a lot on Pulsar....

I noticed that those centres with the bloody pinoys are very strict as these FT really follow the book and cant give n take.. Want to perform so wont get send back ah..

 

For me JIC at amk is the best..

Even aftermarket brake disc also fail the inspection ar....

 

Anyone thought of writing to LTA why we cant use led lights since it's brighter n that's the reason why all traffic light now become led
