The drain plug is Located at the bottom of CVT box towards the end. Filling hole is 90 degrees to the drain plug at the end. Both secured by an 8mm bolt.

Recommended gear oil 90W but I am using 140W high temperature oil. In addition I add one table spoon Tuf oil.

I have one of the smoothest engine with a FC of 40 Kms / Liter

Sorry can't seems to see the pictures attached. If really closing is the problem check the nuts securing the catch on the seat. More likely the nuts had dropped out. Else go back to the shop ask them to rectify the problem for you. Cheers.

Kongfu there are two spring nuts to balance the seat alignment. You will just need a plyer to adjust it. I too had this problem. Now fixed.

I am on a Xciting 400abs. Its a excellent scoot. Pickup is very good, good FC at around 22km/l for city riding. Engine oil is 1.5 bottle normal 10w 40. The abs works great, tested a few times already... not that I purposely go test it, just very glad I chose the ABS variant.

Cons of bike is no gear shift?? Hehe hehe:p

.....Jan how tall is your windshield?....

I still owe you a answer on that part.

The Ermax screen is about 15 cm. higher then top edge of OEM screen.

Or another measurement: From top edge dashboard 24,5 cm.

Since many Asian guy's and girls are not that tall like Europeans,

it's better to not buy the "smoke" version but instead buy "Clear"

Until 175 cm. use "Clear" article nr. 014101013

Taller then 175 cm. can use "Smoked" article nr. 014102013

In my opinion Smoked is aesthetic 'number one nice'... but safety gotta goes before aesthetics

if peeps are not tall enough.

Senior Bros,

Need your help here. I am currently divided in buying either a new kymco downtown 300i or a sym joymax 300i. Went to Motorsport today and Ah Wong explained to me the features of the bike and the price breakdown. They have the last unit of the 300i. Went to Mah last week and the salesperson did the same. But Motorsport is willing to take in my Super 4 Vtec 1 at a higher price and the kymco here sells lower than Unique.

I like the stylish design of the Joymax. Quite a number of my motorbike friends however discourage me from taking up the joymax due to reliability & workmanship issues. They had recommended the kymco downtown 300i instead. Is the downtown really better than joymax ?

Appreciate senior bros' wisdom here. Thanks much

Ha ha oops I can open up blindly

At least I open up every 2000km to control and to remove all dust out of the CVT.

Before I had the Dr. Pulley's 15 gram. but swapped to variator Malossi the BIG aggressor :cheer:

I dissembled both, the variator to exchange with Malossi variator and the clutch to assemble the Malossi clutch-spring.

For variator just remove the drive pulley nut with a 24mm socket.

Finally mount the variator nut with "Loctite BLUE" and use a torque wrench...: Torque specifications 77.7/85 Nm. or Kgfm 7,9/8,7

Note: Nobody saying that you have to use "Loctite BLUE" but I like to use for safety reasons

The only special (not expensive) tool you also need is a "Universal-Vario-blocking-tool" aka:

Universal Tool to Hold Flywheel and Clutch Pulleys BUZZETTI Ø50-140 Univers.

Just google on : 5637 buzzetti, average price would be 25 SGD.

The clutch-bell I normally dissembling with my air-tool, and using a simple home-made tool to dissemble the clutch it self.

Dissemble the clutch it self you only have to do if you also would like to @ a stiffer clutch-spring.

Hi J@n!

I could really use some help from you!

I own a xciting 400i ADS and i would like to get some special parts also as you !

I can see from your posts that you have done an excellent work on your xciting!

Can you give me some advice about the extras that you have tried on?

I've found Dimotiv in Ebay.

What other parts have you tried?

Can you give me some advice about aftermarket exhausts?

where can i find the Amu-Z carbon look like sticker and this http://freeimagehosting.nl/site2/image.php?di=4723 ?

Also this http://freeimagehosting.nl/site2/image.php?di=8TV8 ?

Have you also tried polini or Mallosi variator?

And finally, do have any idea about this: http://www.drpulley.info/shop/product_info.php?products_id=447

I am sure that right now i made you tired with my post....

Thanks anyway!

Cheers. TQ

@ userGr

Ha ha good too know that you like to pimp too ;)

Meanwhile like you've noticed some parts are on Ebay, the most parts you showing are not from Ebay but ordered via "middleman" in Taiwan

samples I took from http://search.ruten.com.tw/search/s000.php?searchfrom=searchf&k=Xciting+400&t=0

Copy/paste the Chinese header text and prices from each article you would like to order and send to "middle-man" and ask if he order and ship to you.

All prices on search ruten are.com are in Taiwanese Dollars!

The middleman company I used was http://www.taiwanezstar.com/ (ask them for final prices)

After arriving from a nother continent then Europe you also have to pay your local customs.

Caution: situations are chancing often so first always check also Ebay & Ebay

All world wide articles on Ebay Xciting check out also the newest exhaust system OVAL EVO LeoVince

See also Jcosta or KossoVoltmeter

@ Ramzi

Don't know for sure, because I used a universal BIG baco :bouncefire:

I do not yet have a real "Clutch Spring Compressor" so far I used a couple pieces of wood and 3 wood-clamps.

The big nut isn't that much tide-up, if you onto 3 points keep the clutch 100% compressed, you can take it of easily.

Soon I will buy myself a real "Clutch Spring Compressor" they aren't that much expensive see easyparts.nl
