Good afternoon to all,

What would be the best route to take if I am gg in via 1st link just for petrol? I don't mind pumping at any petrol kiosk, so long its on the way. And I am still not too sure about how to come back to sg via the new checkpoint. Could someone enlighten me? Many thanks in advance. :)

If you're heading towards JB town from Taman Sentosa or Plaza Pelangi, take the flyover before the traffic police and make a left turn. It will bring you straight to the new Malaysian CIQ at Stulang. When in doubt, look out for the directional signs. I believe they're up already (though I don't need to rely on it)

Basically if you're from town, head towards the Plaza Pelangi/Sentosa/Carrefour direction (meaning, when you come to the three-forked junction after Komtar/City Square, go to the extreme right one). Then keep to the left. As soon as you see the traffic police on the right, go up the flyover on the left and filter to the right. After that, it's rather straight forward...

I've inserted a map with some landmarks for easy reference. Just follow the blue arrows....

BlackBandit has given some useful tips to answer your query about returning to S'pore.

Yup, the signs are up already. Saw them when I went in this afternoon. Even when you've pumped petrol at Lor Ah Gua and are returning, the signs to direct you are already up.

Is it still very crowded for bike to cause pile of jam at the new JB custom? Thanks and ride safe!! :)

No jams today. All smooth flowing. There were so many operators sitting in their cubicles with nothing to do.

This afternoon almost all the moneychangers were displaying RM240 for SGD100. The one I changed at was at a ulu place, but she gave me 241. And you're right abt the route in & out being more like a GP route. Overall I clocked almost 3km more after I had pumped petrol than I used to clock using the old route with the old checkpoint.

After exit at the new custom, You can pump a Shell Petrol Kiosk then make a U-turn at the nearest flyover & you can get to singapore in not time... The direction sign board is already up... :cheer:

Just go straight & follow the sign... Hee... :cheer: Correct mi if i'm wrong....

hitman

Yup the route is like a mini-circuit. If I counted right, from the old checkpoint to the exit of the new CIQ, there are 5 right turns & 4 left turns.... Once you exit the CIQ, the mini circuit continues for a while too... hahahahahaha!!!

And the RM1.80 price has been around for the past week...

if I am going to Taman Sentosa area..

going out of CIQ, I have to turn right into Jalan Tebrau right?

and coming back, I have to turn left into the Lingkaran Dalam ? (no longer going straight down to city square?

where can I pump petrol then? pump immediately after exiting CIQ?
