Liquid cooled 400cc V-twin.

 

I've seen both half and full faired versions. Very good track bike! V-twin power!

Wat info do u need? I can share some info with u...I own a FU Black SV as well...last of the brand new...

 

The one on Yahoo is a black bike with 37000km on it, dun know genuine or not, 4th owner, no plate I think is FS plate, early 1999 register bike. Overall condition ok la....Worth for value or not it's up to yr own judgement...

 

SV400/SV400S(1/2 fairing) is basically the same bike...and exactly the same as SV650 /V, 650 is a big bore version from the 400...

The model only available from 1999 to 2002.

SV=higher handle position+street handling like Super 4;

SVS=street, tour and track machine.

Maintenance;

2 NGK CR8E plug or NGK platinum CR8EVX, can last up to 60000km.

2.3L of Motul 300V Full-Syn 15W50 engine oil or 2.4L with oil filter changed, for every 6000km.

One time drop in KN&N air filter.

Critical electrical parts are interchangeable with the rest of Suzuki 400cc bikes, eg,GSXR400, Bandit400

Normal engine parts can be easily purchased thru local distributors or agents, or even web for cosmetic parts.

 

Consumption;

Full tank 16L for 340km reserve light on, can go on for another est.

 

Performance:

All 400cc bikes in Japan are restrited to 53hp(39.5kw) only, but the torque of this SV (41Nm, 30.2 ft. lbs) is the highest among all 400 class inclusive of S4 VTEC series.

 

Handling:

Easy in congested traffic and very willing to be 'trown' at corners.

 

Overall Verdict:

A very easy handling bike, fantastic consumtion and almost idiot proved maintenance. Superb torque for city riding and winding road or track, a good and cheap starter v-twin compare to Ducati...

 

Personal advice:

If can find a good condition and low genuine mileage bike, it will be a good buy. Used V-twins engine above certain mileage will require extremely care and maintenance...unless well taken care of or own it from start.
