And don't ask people whom don't ride this bike to tell you how it behaves, ask the riders themselves, ask people like kooteowman, weis, hart, adrian or limsteel....

SV 650\400 generally no problem, less than 2.5l engine oil, two spark plug..... cheaper to maintain than a CB 400.

Btw there's no 600 for SV, think you are refering to the 650.

does ur 650 get very hot when riding in sg?

i believe tat this is very impt..

cos most class 2 bikes are really hot..

even naked bikes like fazer, really hot like nobody's business..

And don't forget the exclusivity of owning one....lol

Honestly how many people can say they own one?

Or perharps you wanna join the CB group(no pun intended) , got more kaki, more people having the same bike, reliable....what else please add in.

Tried and tested by alot of people, more over got resale value.

But need some effort to customise.......

Which insurer did you go to? Mine due for renewal. Goto pay $250 for third party fire & theft @ NTUC. $250 includes 20%NCD & 5% loyalty discount.

Btw, 25% is the max for bike NCD? Can't recall what's the max. And last time TP used to give out "White Card" for further NCD discount. Are they still doing that?

my insurance is $253 fire and theft + 3rd party.. 5% loyalty discount.. NO NCD.. oops.. haha..

but it's the truth.. can show u the insurance myself..

sv400s or sv650s is definitely more suitable for sg roads in terms of where the range of power is.. and despite being in the power band, our mileage is much better than s4 when s4 hits their power band.

the 400s loses out when we get to the higher speeds (above 120km/h to 190km/h), the bike accelerates slower but doesn't mean tat it wun get there.. even at high speeds, the consumption still better than s4..

normal maintenance all cheaper than s4.. the bike uses lesser eo and spark plugs. the sv650s will do way better on the trunk roads in malaysia as their power bands are wider in range than the 400s.

98 doesn't mean more milage. there is no nob to turn for reserve... just look at the fuel indicator as mention above.

My insurance is from NTUC, wonder why the diff... maybe I old liao... Did I mention I wanna keep my balls intact. So NTUC gave me further discount... DenDen one must be higher judging from the way you guys discribe the way he ride

I called NTUC Income for quote...as i already had a bike insurance with them...and they told me that i would need a second insurance for this bike and my NCD would start from 0 again though they gave me a 5% loyalty discount...and that still cost me $600 plus....so demoralising.

Is the white card u mentioned for keeping good records for 5 yrs?

oh by the way...din noe u are such a chio bu. "Weeu Weee"... :thumb: :lovestruck:

Hi weiz85,

If I did not remember wrongly, you got a silver SV400S from Mah Motors? I was the previous owner and have a spare windshield(quite streaked with lines though, the current one on the bike is courtesy of Albert) and "Fusso 7" bike polish for pearl metallic bikes. PM me if you want them. I was clearing out the store when I saw them in a corner, really brings back memories of the bike. Anyway, it is great to see you enjoying the bike.

Cheers,

kyquek
