Hi hi...Christine55...Don't mention it and thanks for the addresses of the others coz i needed them...A friend of mine from California has just arrived to market some of the bike items that are fairly new in the market but not available yet here in Asia, and i wanted to bring him around to the bike dealers who would be suitable to market out these products...Thanks again...Cheers...

Hi hi...Neslo-Ice...Sorry to barge into this thread but I used to work with the dealership and yes of course they do take in 2nd hand harley bikes but you do have to enquire first before jumping into conclusion...It's either you trade-in your old harley for a new one or you can approach any of the friendly Sales Person in the showroom about your situation...I'm sure they would be more than willing to either help you out or give you the best advise necessary...Cheers...ARMOFPEACE...

The 883R, 883L, 1200N have fuel capacity of 12.5L. The 883C and 1200 models have 17L capacity. All the models need 2.65L of oil. I got this from the manual so should be right I think. For the 12.5L tanks, the fuel warning indicator comes on when there's about 3L of fuel left. And the 17L models, the low fuel light comes on when there's 3.8L left.

One question, when running in, its normal to get low fuel consumption right? I've clocked about 800km so far and my warning light comes on at about 160km after i fill.

yes it is normal and almost impossible to get good fuel mileage during the run-in stages. Let the run in complete before you start monitoring your consumption unless you are comparing between pre run in and post run in results..:)

I think its new, its a yellow symbol on the speedo shaped like a petrol pump which lights up, and there's no reserve now.

maxxmadness35 Thanks, for the info, won't bother monitoring anymore

I see. Maybe the EFIs have them. Do they have the fuel switch thingy? (forum won't let me type pet **** lol.)

Did you get Vincent's sporty? If so, that's a teardrop thank. I think it's only a 7L or 9L tank compared to a peanut tank which is 12.5L and custom tank which is 17.5L. The reserve should be 3L for all so do the math.

The sporty tank looks damn small but the framing is different and can actually hold quite a lot. If I'm not wrong it holds the same amount as a Magna 750 and the Magna tank looks pretty big.

Also you can't just look in to see how much fuel left, quite hard to estimate unless you're used to it.

No diff when you pump at reserve switch, on switch or off switch. But when you ride do make sure it's at ON. To check your 3.4L mystery, take a long ride till you hit (splutter) reserves then go pump again to check.

Oh I'm guessing only the new EFI models have the reserve light. Old sporties have nothing but your odometer to check. :)

Hope it helps :)
