1. No idea, I go to locations near me.

2. Not much stuff to carry, but I'll tie a bag to the sissybar. If you wan you can put saddles/hardcases.

1. what about changing of spare parts? are they costly?

2. how much do saddles/hardcases cost?

Yeah did that, went oredi.

He noticed the nitty gritty parts, like missing O-Ring, and suggested to change the sparking cable due to deterioration.

1. Must say it depends de, especially on what kind and location of the parts changed. Usually it's pricier than normal bikes comparing with those of similar capacity (exotic brands excluded). You can do a search online for some parts, can get the approximate costs. But I hardly think parts requiring frequent change costs much. Gaskets and seals dun cost alot, oil filter also not much. That's what I can think of. Belts usually dun need change that frequently (supposedly 100k km, but I think 50k km can check oredi).

2. Depends leh, saddlebags LAB ones

sorry i think i didn't state clearly. what i mean is how's the maintanence like compared to a regular 4 cylinder japanese bike?

also can i bring it for servicing anywhere? or must i service it at a shop specialised in working on HDs?

1. Maintenance is similar for all kind of bikes, just that the stuff you have to pay more for, such as the drive belt, air filter, oil filter. Engine oil is min 4L, so from 1 bottle for TA200 to 4 bottles for HD. Usual servicing about $100 + - for oil change, oil filter and spark plugs.

2. if the mech is familiar with HD, why not. Eg Rosli, he does many kind of bikes, HD being one of them. I feel he has a better hands-on approach than another who does HD and has superb eye-powered-analysis.

factor about 30% more cost into the maintenace of a HD from that of a japanese bike of the same cc and you should be in the comfy zone.

Funny you should ask, I just saw an 883R with exactly such a config this everning. The highway pegs were mounted on a horn like bar which is mounted on the downtubes. Looks a bit odd, but definitely functional.

my knee is kinda problematic nowadays, so i was thinking having a highway peg to stretch it abit should do it some good. Hmmm, wonder what I should be looking for. Think i know what you have seen.

i have got no idea, but if i put a highway peg in the position near to forward controls, and i like it, then at least the option for change is still there, rather than get a set of forward controls that in the end I dun like.

Actually highway pegs are great. Nice for a stretch on the er..highway. But mid controls are EXCELLENT when you want some cafe racing riding with quick zips and darting in and out of traffic. You can't do that as easily with forward controls. You need a bit more sporty, put your legs on the pillion pegs. heee. It's actually not bad.

Actually lun, if you wanna stretch your leg, just lean your legs on the foot pegs. It's ok for me. Just nice cept when cornering must raise legs abit otherwise scrap the road. But you taller I not sure how would that be. Upz for us short asses. hee
