anyone cld help me out? i had just completed 3.2K km, kinda worried

I think i know what you mean by the "teeeeeeee".. It sounds like a rocket charging up to fire off from ur bike ya?!

 

I believe its an EFI thingy, dun really hear that on carb models.

So I guess its normal. Or maybe if any bros out there has a better and more detailed explaination, pls comment..

yup, it just the bike going through its normal routine before start, am sure when you collected the bike, the sales person would have told you to let the bike go through this process then start the bike, but guess you are too excited about hopping on the bike and riding off that you didnt hear what was being brief...

Hi Mak,

 

1) The soft metal grinding sound should not be coming from your exhaust. I am not sure what the sound really sounds like, but here are some possibilities:

 

a) Your exhuast gaskets are not installed well. So when the exhaust gas expels out, it casues slight friction between the gaskets and the ports or your exhaust. Thus the sound. Check that.

 

b) You could be slipping the clutch at very low RPMs out of first gear gear. If that is the case, you can feel the power pulses through the gear lever, and it is very unpleasant. There will be a sound of metal grinding but not from your exhaust.

 

c) When you are travelling slow, you could be releasing your clutch too slowly. This would cause a rattle while you are in the clutch friction zone. Just release quicker and you should be ok.

 

d) Check your RPMS when this sound comes in. Below 1800 rpm, you may have this sound. Anything above 2,800 - 3,000 rpm, that is another problem all together. You may have transmission issues.

 

2) As for the teee sound, if you are on a fuel injected bike, it is normal. It is the sounds of the servos triggering the EFI units. No Biggie.

haha, partly true, i somewhat only heard the part where during the engine diag part n the sound which it wld emit

Beer = 3 nights (maybe 3 nights 4 days if you get really drunk )

 

What exhausts are you guys using (don't tell me all using stock?!)? I might change my exhausts next time but I do not want something too loud and rude.

 

Anything that sounds abit louder and deeper than the stock? Vance & Hines should be out of the option because I think it's too loud and too high pitched (according to youtube haha!).

i purchased a 2nd hand 49 state stock exhaust(2nd hand but was removed from the bike new) over ebay for US$30 and got a local shop to removed the baffle....deep low rumbling minus the high pitch of most after market..i like it this way...

 

damage:

 

exhaust + shipping = approx S$200

baffle removing = $60

sound = priceless
