hiatus? what's he up to?

I hear he will be taking a couple of months off to ride through a few countries like Vietnam and Laos. Not sure when though.

If it has t!ts or a kickstand, I can ride it.

Hi all!

I'm going to be doing a photoshoot for Prestige magazine next Tuesday and I'm looking for a vintage soft-tail chopper to be a part of the shoot.

Anyone interested or know anyone who might be please feel free to pm for further information.

Thanks!

But that one i mentioned is a pre-ordered bike. Machine price is in the region of 24k as to what i was told.

Anyways, my 06 Sporty's left battery cover flew out in the NSHW despite zip ties. Do any of you have one for sale??

I have the best signature.

Welcome mate!!!

BTW anyone has any ideas about the 6 speed tranmisson for 96 Sporty XL1200C?? (or there isn't any or it's a whole different issue for Sporty??)

Anyone has any idea where to get??

I'm at wits ends with regards to Ebay, XLforum etc.... no luck in locating one....

Though expensive but I believe it is a good upgrade on the long run as the engine will be much less taxing, i presume...

Any ideas about tat mates??

Regards

Steven

I havent heard of any 6 speed conversion kits for a sporty.

If your trying to lower your rpms at speed, a lot simpler to change your front sprocket from a 28T to either 28T or 30T. I dont think you need to change the belt.

Downside is your take off speed is compromised by higher gearing and your speedo maybe off a bit.

thought i saw on XLforum that someone was on Baker 6 speed tranny...

Confirm no need, I had done it before. :p

So far don't have 6speeds for Sportster,

they only have 6speeds for EVO Big Twins

and 7speeds for new Big Twins, twin cams EFI. :p

Well, the 6 speed is useless in SG roads. I only use it above 110 kmh on NSH. But then the Sportys are more high reving so prob use the extra gear more than the big twins.. I am actually considering going down in teeth size so can engage 6th a little earlier. But will lose top end speed, which is fine with me.
