Harley Riders gather

I remember someone saying, "no money, no harley"

I guess that applies here, I always thought the dealership wants to weed out the middle class from riding harley bikes. which is dumb because harley always protray the working class hero.

now that the yuppies are buying cars, I guess harley is screwed up.

Well that is their problem...

not forgetting that Harley brought over Augusta & gotten into a whole lot of **** because of that...

Well, maybe the local agent want more posers than bikers thus able to generate more hence the high pricing & posers usually noe nuts about their bikes...

just my bike of view so pls dun blast me...lol

So far, I have no bad experience with the agent.

I have different brands of cars and motorcycles, agent shity stuff is happening everywhere.

In the end of the day, you have to do some self help instead of being emotional. :p

Yup agree on that mate...!!!

I dont think any place will carry the 240. I had asked a few indies and they said they would order online (try Chris with Sunhog). Which in any case you can do that yourself and probably save on shipping if use one of the consolidators. The tire weighs a bit and its bulky so the charges are $$$. Someone else posted a thread on using vpost or something.

I had a trip to the US and bought a tire there. It cost me S$250 and checked it into baggage. The dealer wanted $500+ (that includes a 20% discount for HOG members). This was for a Dunlop SE180. I have another trip over xmas so will pick up my front tire then :p

Good luck.

Getting a 240 tyres in Singapore is no longer a problem.

Call JP Pte Ltd, they are authorised distributor for Dainese, Metzeler, Lightech & Gaerne.

I know they import 240 size, give them a call, is subjected for availablity.

Here is their link - JR Pte Ltd

Actually found a decent site to buy from the US. RealHog.com. Their shipping is reasonable as its not overnight but regular US Postal. about 4 weeks but saves a bundle. I bought a leather jacker and shipping was US$28. Versus $90 for others.

For your tire

- Metzeler ME 880 Marathon 240/50VR-16 Rear

Part Number: ME-110-10431 for $237.27

Standard = $134.80 (Non-Trackable but very affordable, with 1-4 weeks transit time)

Fast International = $268.31 (Trackable with 4-9 business days transit time)

Fastest International = $303.64 (Trackable with 3-7 business days transit time)

Read more about shipping Order Summary

Part Qty Price Total

ME-110-10431 1 $237.27 $237.27

Subtotal $237.27

Shipping $134.80

Tax $0.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So it works out to be S$515 which I bet is cheaper than any indy for a 240. I am not sure how much SG customs will tack on, but am sure they will due to its large size.

I understand how u feel.. I am so happy that my service package is over.. I am planning to get another harley for weekends, but in my mind, always reminded me not to get brand new again.. I bought my 2010 sportster last year, I rode everyday, so my bike's servicing was often.. I was angry on every servicing.. for example - I was waiting their call to pick my bike, no one called me, called back, they went home, i couldn't get my bike, sometimes i had to cancel my ride coz of all this.. but now over... :)

Hi guys, I noticed an issue with my machine recently. I am getting little flecks of hot oil on my left pant leg whenever I ride. It's substantial enough to make my pants look polka dotted and I'm curious as to what the issue is. My servicing is due end of the month but I'm wondering if it's a problem that needs to be solved urgently. Appreciate if anyone can help me out with some information.

I'm riding a 1200 sportster btw.

Thanks a bunch!

check your rocker cover(engine top cover) and see it is leaking from the rockers...this is a common area of leak for sportster. You can arrange for the seals to be changed off during your servicing...and do check your oil level to make sure it is not running low from this leak you are experiencing
