kepbin you fixed the intiminator and progressive drop in springs on your bike already?

Haha yes I put e intiminator n progressive springs in Liao n been riding wif them for about 2mths now.e frontend is stiffer than stock, but not like ur -2inch springs. now Doing corners the bike won't bounce Liao n goes in well. Over potholes n humps, can feel e bike goes down as a whole,nOt like last time e front dips in. I feel e intiminator will work better wif stock springs,as recommended by ricor.

My rear shocks I feel have to stiffen up a notch.maybe I do soon.

But wif e frontend stiff,my screws on e frontend r coming loose more often.haha

your progressive springs is it the drop-in lowering kit? i also find the front end too stiff.. and a bit too low for my liking. was wondering if the intiminator will increase the height. Anyway, I will most likely just live with it for the time being. Looking at true track now. reviews from hdforums not bad. you have any experience with it?

My springs r same as urs.but I use stock length.the PVC spacers i use for e springs r abt an inch shorter than stock, putting in e intiminator compensate another maybe half inch or so.so rite now my front end is juz maybe less than half a inch shorter fr stock.

I can't put truetrack as e location to fix it on is taken up by my oil cooler liao.

Icic... haha... think i need to put move pvc to extend the front. Can't wait to go back and do up the bike. Anyway, for my 1 year old battery that is dead, do you think there is any chance that it will work again after i recharge it?

greetings HD bros,

I intend to swap out my 2012 softail's exhausts for a set of full aftermarket ones. however, I realized the back pipe is equipped with an exhaust flap and its servo motor. simply unplugging the servo could throw a code. was wondering how you guys with aftermarket full systems go around this.

do you:

(1) connect a resistor in place of the servo motor's plug to trick the electronics; or

(2) have the 'active exhaust flap' disabled at HDS.

thanks in advance!

I personally feel that it is underpowered. 1200cc would be a nicer ride. Of course there would be ppl who find 883 more than enough for spore road. That's just my personal opinion. If you are used to class 2 jap street/sports bike, I don't think you would like 883... :)

anyone riding a 883 sportster know how it rides ? is it underpowered at 42 HP ?

Noob here, just wanted to buy a 883, if after stage 1 upgrade to 1200 would it be better?

883 can upgrade to 1200 ? how to ? engine swap ?

now im riding a VFR 800 , i feel that it has no torque ....and not really suited to my kind of riding....42HP is like a super 4 right ? but how about the torque ?need to keep downshifting ?

It depends on what you are up too. For me it's good enough for Sgp rd, when I need to overtake, the torque is there to help me achieve that. When I buy my iron, my intention was to cruise the bike not cheong like a race bike.. So the 883 fits all my expectation..

I'm very certain that the 883 will not be your cup of tea coming from a VFR800.

Personally I had a 2000 883, super4s all had me for breakfast at pick up.i upgraded to mikuni 42mm carbs, hypercharger, python 3 full system,SE ignition module,SE ignition coil,SE high cams. Wif all these, yes I beat super4 in pick up,haha but my FC dropped fr 23km/L to 17km/L.

Yes u can do a 1200 conversion, but most cases that my frens did, because of e high compression, the cylinders leak. Best to do is get a 1200 instead to do a conversion, 883 is really underpowered.

Like what kepbin mentioned, there are a number of things you can do to improve the 883 or even upgrade to 1200 ( at a significant cost)... so with all that trouble, just get a 1200. Anyway, buying Harley is one of the bike purchase which you don't have to worry about whether you will like the feel or not. Just go for a test ride. Try both 883 and 1200. Feel for yourself and you will know the answer soon enough :thumb:

any reason why its a 883 cc engine but produces so low HP ?

whats the top speed like ? im using it as a transport bike ...so ideally i would prefer it to be able to cruise comfortably at 100-120 km/hr
