Harley Riders gather

1. The matte black peanut tank on my 2010 Iron got dented on the right by the handlebar :(

Ans: the dent can be knocked out easily and a paintjob juz for the tank should cost u more than $200. Where to do it, bike shop should know. if not maybe can check some forums where they will recommend some good paint shop.

2. Handlebar became crooked but still ride-able. Just that the left is higher than the right

Ans: If the difference is juz slightly, it should passed. My handlebar has a slightly bent, thou u cant tell unless really scrutinised. If u do wanna replace it, there is alot of guys here wif spares that u can buy of them. I've an original Brand New Harley Billet Handlebar P/N: 56793-05 for sale. but it cant clear the peanut tank.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/335706-Brand-New-Harley-Davidson-Billet-Aluminium-Handlebar-For-Sale.?highlight=

3. Front signal light lens broken, but bulb still blinking like a charm :p

Ans: I'm sure the guys here have spare yellow lenses. I do have them, but i need to find yellow bulbs 1st to change them to smoke lenses.

4. Clutch and brake levers a little bent but still functional.

Ans: You can get them Aftermarket from eBay for abt USD$30. Works the same too. If not, again I'm sure the guys has the stock as spare.

5. Mirrors scratched.

Ans: Still useable, guys have spare too. If not, ebay has them stock new take offs for less than USD$100.

6. Rubber grips a little torn up (small issue).

Ans: Still useable, guys have spare too. I'm using my 2nd stock grips, spare from some guys!

How much (estimated) do I have to fork out to a minimal repair?

Not sure where to go to get a quick fix before my inspection in early October. Thinking of Sun Burst but Ah Yee is always short-handed. Not sure whether I can pass inspection with crooked handlebar and signal light with no lens.

I'm also worried about the matte black finish on the tank. Is there a place that can do a good job that can match the stock paint?

Thanks in advance. Have a great day!

Hey bro, I have some of the items you need.

I have the orange signal lens, sportster handlebar, black levers (for dyna, not sure if can fit sportster) and chrome mirrors (can send for powdercoat).

The only prob is that I will only be back after 20 Sep. If you still need the things then, just whatsapp me. PM me if you need my number.

Good morning brothers and sisters. Been quite some time since I've posted here.

Had a stupid accident when trying to push start my Iron. Too much throttle and clutch :slapforehead: Well maybe it's time to do a little mod. It has remained totally stock for almost 3 years ;)

Well here's the damage:

Thanks bro for your reply :) Good suggestion especially about asking the bros here who has the stock parts.

Anyway, if I can't get everything done on time, I'll just fix the signal light and handlebar first. The rest can wait :)

hey guys

has anyone changed their rims to tubeless? estimate how much did it cost?

Hi sinseh, some of us did change to alloy wheels from e spoke wheels to go tubeless.

How much it cost will depends what kinda wheels u looking for?

Stock alloy wheel fr other harley models?

Aftermarket brand or Harley? Chrome or juz aluminum?

If u juz want to go tubeless, maybe u can juz buy a set of stock alloy wheel within ur model family (etc in dyna family, streetbob comes spokey,e superglide comes tubeless alloy.)

It's cheaper this way n mostly direct bolt-on.

My streetbob,I used a Deuce stock rear wheel, front is a Harley Detonator chrome wheel. The detonator wheel is brand new,n e deuce is a new take off.both cost me abt USD400 n usd150 respectively fr eBay.total shipped here cost me abt sgd1k.not too bad.

Aftermarket chrome or all black wheels will cost over usd1k for a set.

But if u buy fr HDS,will cost u more for than sgd1k for juz one wheel, depends if it's chrome or not.

Where to find customize parts other than HD Singapore.?

Think need to order online. Most shops are just workshops. They don't stock accessories.

BTW bros, please share if you have good online sites for buying HD goodies!! :D

Alright guys, time for a gathering! OKie, fact is, I have been away for too long and need a ride, hence the proposed outing.

Some caveats:

1. This is an open invitation for gathering. All HD families are welcome (Dyna, Sportster, Touring, Softtails, Vrods).

2. Come at your own risk (you know what I mean). There will not be any secret SMS to inform you about time and place. It will all be posted here.

Objective is just for like-minded bike lovers to gather, have fun and clock some mileage. Also nice to put a face to the screen names.

Date: 28 Sep (Friday) TBC

Time: 2100 hrs onwards

Place: TBA ( Let me go and recce first.)

Point of Contact: TBA ( I will leave my number here nearer the date. Overseas now, can't reply anyway.)

If you are in, leave a name:

1. hitman (streetbob)

2.

Hi guys,

I know this is an often asked question, insurance.

I need to renew mine v soon but liberty quote me $770 for renewal.

went to direct asia website n got a quote of abt $200 cheaper but they did not state the terms or the company.

i hold cl2 > 20yrs n I am so old i finished NS liability .. FYI for insurance only.

anyone has a general insurance broker to refer or any recommendations based on your current experience.

For directasia, you must declare use as "business" to be comparable. Else they won't cover claims if you use bike to go for meetings.
