Speaking of bags, does anyone know a place where a guy could get a small RED tank bag? It has to be really low profile, all i need is enough space to fit a nicely folded raincoat in....preferably not too expensive in case people steal it (i dont intend to remove it)....am so sick of getting caught in the rain :(

Hey guys and gals.

Got my Oxford panniers delivered to my doorstep (thanks Motrax33). Looks great and build quality is fantastic. Comes with rain covers, shoulder straps, bungees, rigid plastic inserts (to maintain bag's shape) and paint-protector pads. I can squeeze my full face helmet into 1 pannier when fully expanded. Funny thing is .. I don't feel like fixing it on my bike, I don't know why (I bought the panniers for daily use!). As what Rehdeer said, Monsters look best when naked, especially with a single-seat cover. Sigh .. I don't know what I am doing. I am still carrying my yellow Targus haversack everyday rain or shine. But to use the panniers only for touring is like such a waste.

Oh another thing worth mentioning is that with the panniers on, I don't think you can have any passenger. The panniers will block the foot pegs and your passenger will have to open his/her legs VERY wide. Lastly, I agree that Monsters will look horrible with hard boxes (except for the original Ducati ones because they fit very nicely).

I have tried tank bag before. Don't really like it. Have to remove it when topping up petrol and the bag will somehow scratch your tank when dirt traps underneath it. But good thing is, your bike will remain "slim" and makes you feel safer at higher speeds, unlike side panniers (make your bike fatter) but the Oxford panniers are just slightly wider than the exhausts when not fully expanded (maybe even less wide than your handlebar).

Hi neo,

Really! That's good news! So how will the pillion sit? Sit on the pillion seat and grab the panniers with his legs? Sort of like "kiap" the panniers? But what if the panniers are full? I can't figure that out ... please enlighten.

BTW next time can you teach me how to remove and fix the panniers on, in the shortest time possible? Thanks : )

If i recall, someone claimed he can put on/take off the panniers in 15 seconds or less....so yohji.....bring a stopwatch    :faint:

OK guys, serious question...where the hell do i get the front fairing on the monster in the pic attached???? It looks absolutely MAD!!! I know where to get the dual headlights, but it's that crazy fairing which completes the look!!!

Posted

espido, thanks for the help dude, is this the one you're talking about?

http://www.spareshack.com/cgi-bin/browse-n...tem=moncf013_fa

Unfortunately it's not the same fairing, although pretty close. The price is...um, well....pretty scary all the same :(

Spareshack does sell the dual headlight assembly though. The front fairing in that pic i posted kind of looks like it came off a Super 4 Spec III doesn't it?

Hi Sols,

Finally we meet... ironic isn't it to be neighbours and not know each other?

Hi, Pro Dero ......

Timing belts should be inspected every 10,000 km or changed every 20,000 km. Check with Minerva workshop it would roughly cost how much for labour; and call Ismail at Minerva showroom 62984777 to ask how much if to change and whether if change at Minerva there's a 15% discount on the item.

I agree with Neo; general Italian bikes are ok, juz require regular tender loving care; not as forgiving as japanese bikes.

Stamford is ok, except that you gotta get parts for Alex and that he is popular and tends to be slow; yet his place cannot park bikes overnight. Hence may translate to lost days for ya.

BTW, some people go to Rosli; but he is also popular and hence busy.

Cheers
