i dun see how any particular bike is better or worse for the purpose you stated. cannot be you want a bike that purposely break down frequently just so you can learn diy.

since you mention sportsbike and bigger cc, i assume you're aiming for a class 2 sportsbike in the long term. if you want a 2b bike as similar as possible, then get a 4-stroke sportsbike. a cbr150 or yzf-r15 i think would be a good starting point since these two would have common cheap parts for you to tinker with, plus they shd be reliable as heck.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Thanks for the replies . Anyway was wondering if insurance for P-plater sports bike can be cut down? went to see for sportsbike/2b : Range is $1200 to $1600. Are there ways to cut the costs?

So slow, yet so fast.

Dont think can cut down...unless you grow older instantly as since u are a p-plater only age will make much of a difference.

As an example p-plater above the age of 28 you will be quoted about 350-450.

Best you get a 2ndhand 4 stroker bike if you want to tinker with it..r15 would be a good starting point..all round workhorse with relatively easy to find parts

Whoa, insurance is really a waste of money ..

Not for the victims who get hit......

U can try Rieju also. Is a 2b sportbike. It look and handling is similar to class 2 bike.

Fuel consumption is 45-50 km per litre.

The way is not in the sky.

The way is in your heart.

:cheeky:That's the way it should be.:cheeky:
