Ahaha.. was about to to suggest that. Second your opinion. Read all 40+ pages slowly, a bit at a day. You don't need to to apply everything you learn in one shot. Enjoy your riding and apply one thing a day. Also, if you want to learn more about HOV in page 10 or 11, pm me. Endlessloop will conduct a next HOV practical class when enough people sign up.

Erm... You haven't bought your bike i suppose? This one you when you buy from shop, or if you buy from private owner, ask them point to you which one is tank for 2T. Don't pour into coolant tank hor.

2T bikes use 2T. Its for lubricating the engine. By right when its about to dry, a red light will light up on your speedo/rpm indicator. But dun depend on it. Every month or so check left how much. If you can't see inside, shake your bike a bit, the 2T level will tilt and you can see clearer, or use a torch to shine in. Mid range 2T is fine. high end priced 2T is not really necessary.

thanks just to confirm with you guys again

so for the 2T i pour a bottle cap quantity into the fuel tank and the rest to the engine oil holder>?

And for every 6mths to a year i have to refill it? An what if i'm using a quite cheap 2T and after i use it i realize that it isn't as gd i decided to change 2T can i mix the old with the new together?

wa.. 6 months to a year is unless u drive once a week la. Haha.. Typically 2t is used up almost monthly. Some people ride daily and do deliveries, so it may run out in 2 to 3 weeks. Others ride on weekends only, and may run out in a few months. The 2t valve's opening also affects how fast it is used up. If your bike is producing too much smoke from the exhaust in daily S'pore riding, asking the mech to close the valve a little may help. 2t, be it low high or mid range is still 2t. You decide which one u like or feel value for money. I have not had any problems mixing, but some may be against it. Its just like petrol. Some say don't mix. some every other day pump different brand. So its entirely up to you, really. Adding 2t directly into the fuel tank is also not really needed for Singapore riding. Its usually what riders do travelling in Malaysia, cause usually we whack full tanks dry in an hour or two, and if the 2t valve jams on the way, and the piston seizes, we gonna fly at high speed. Locally, you can check your bike regularly. Like "how come my 2t level still the same despite riding daily for a week or two already." and "is there anymore 2t in my tank?" So.. ebjoy your ride :cheer: make your choices

Bikes are always good bikes. Whether its maintained properly determines if it continues to be good bikes. Cheers :cheer:

Welcome to the riding!

Having only riding for 3 years plus, I am still considered a newbie too. I have some little 2 cents worth to say.

Riding is high risk, it is not dangerous. And every rider should keep that in mind all the time. If we do not take note of its high risk, and start to ride unsafely then it becomes dangerous and accidents will happen.

But definetly riding is FUN

once a while u can half clutch while riding for a while..

prolong half clutch will increase the rate of wear and tear of yr clutch/friction plates..

if possible, try control the throttle while clutch is fully release to maintain the speed u want..

some bikes really don't use much 2T. my rxk really can top up every 6 mths, with daily riding.

using 2T pump is risky... always have chance of seizure. if your bike ever feels jerky (possible sign of impending seizure), check the 2T system ya. and also, if the piston ever starts seizing, the best way to save it is to clutch in. there's very little warning if at all, so usually not preventable. some 2T bike owners disconnect the 2T pump and just mix manually, for peace of mind.

playing clutch is okay la. change the gear oil and clutch plates more often loh. i don't think street riding can overheat the clutch; just faster wear and tear, but it's like tyres... accelerate harder, brake harder, change tyres more often, play clutch more, maintain it more often loh. off-road riding uses much much more half-clutching, and can really burn clutch plates.

take care when riding ya? remember... very few 2nd chances on bikes... remember that when you feel like taking risks.

oh and seriously, try to get comfortable protection and wear them often too. you will be glad if you ever go down. buy stuff you will really wear, e.g. thin comfortable gloves (i like dirtbike gloves), jackets (i like thin mesh jackets with some armour but not too much), shoes... no point buying boots, leather gloves n jacket, and never wear coz too hot.

used to ride Sp.. very nice bike. I top up 2T like every 2 week. runs about 50km a day.. Btw, if your bike start to vibrate at the speed of around 80km/hr, it's normal....

Oh yeah Yotsuga, i would really second Boofeng's suggestion, get a mesh riding jacket and full face with gloves. I have never ever came across a rider who said he never took a fall. Its like if you play soccer, you will get some sprains. From day 1 or riding, be mentally prepared someday u will take a fall. How badly hurt you will be depends on the situation. I escaped with less than bicycle fall kinda wounds, cause i was wearing windbreaker. Regardless of how cautious you are on the road, someday, unfortunately you may take a minor fall. So you really want to be dressed to picked yourself up without a scratch. Cheers :cheer:
