Ya hope some expert in gear indicator can share some views, i tot of installing but on second tot i heard from some that the indicator need to be programmed and reads the gearing from the speed you travel and not the actual gearing. Meaning while traveling at 200km/hr for eg. the gear maybe 5th or 6th, or even drop to 4th.

unlike gixers who have their gear indicators directly sensing the gears... aftermarket ones reads them by engine rpm.

meaning if you are program it to show 4th gear at 6000rpm, it'll still show 4th gear even if you are reving to the same rpm at 3rd.

aftermarkets indicators have to be programed on the road. and sometimes you don't have the luxury to do that.

i did mine on a dynotable for my 12 some years back to get it as accurate as possible, imagine going 300+ on the dyno machine with no load on the drum.... it was screaming like hell.

tested the indicator after programed in track. got very good result. showing the gears correctly.

but again, this was because i did many times before i put the bike on the dyno.

I like it because it gives me confidence, it'll let me challenge myself....

everytime iI ride on it, and discovers the wind is in front of me, I throttle, it'll let me race with the wind.......

I lay low, to reduce wind drag, keep racing forward.....

in the end I won against the wind.....

the 10R come wif slipper clutch ?

wats the mechanism of slipper clutch

Less engine brake ?

bro. all 10r come with slipper clutch.:thumb:

on bikes with no slipper clutch, ur bike will lock and rear will hop if you slam down two or more gears instantly before clutch out. with slipper clutch, all these are eliminated.

Really undecided about tires and i'm due for a new pair soon. Anyone here using Pilot Power 2CT, Sportec M3 or Diablo Corsa III?

YEN yes the 10r comes with a slipper clutch. It limits the torque to the the rear wheel to prevent locking under downshifting.

Using super corsa pro now.. Great tire! Im also quite interested in PP 2CT too.. any bros to comment on the Pilot race??

I'm using Power Race now, no complaints about the tire. Just that i use the bike for daily transport and only go the track about once or twice a month, so i'm looking for something that will last longer.

Just came back from Perlings.. A fren on the 2CT said not so grippy.. overall not satis.. Maybe consider others like M3?

my feedback was slipper clutch reduces the effect of engine brake

correct me i am wrong

so u need to be used to a 10R if not with "slippers on" becomes dangerous

so wear a "shoe" instead

bro, fyi.... asthetic change is not a mod. mods are things like changing cams boring engines and stuff that will greatly change the bikes characteristic and performance. changing hugger is only beautifying ur ride.

but wat hugger u looking for?

yes, with slipper clutch you'll feel the bike not slowing down initially, but you'll get used to it. but the beauty of it is you can throw your clutch after you bang down 2 gears. you'll still feel the engine brake, but not so much.

one thing to share, the slipper clutch really does it's work, unlike 06 r6's, cause it's from BATA and not NIKE

I'm on Qualifier (stock). Good feel, firm . . .great for track and everyday riding. I'm thinking about getting the M3 after this pair ran out.

Whoa, just tried VoLcAnO's '04 10R at the dam. Couldn't stop smiling. Here's my little review...

1) Very racy posture. Good for track, but long rides (eg to Sepang) will hurt.

2) Great linear power delivery. Monster torque from 2000 rpm up. But throttle control is required.

3) Superb suspension. Very little head lift under hard acceleration or head dive under hard braking.

4) Flickable. U-turning is only slightly harder than my NC29. Steering feels like a 600.

5) Front brakes are powerful and predictable. Rear brake feels non-existent.

6) High seat. Feels "on the bike" instead of "in the bike". Will take some getting used to.

I conclude that it is an awesome bike. But I will be too scared to full-throttle this beast on the track, at least for now.
