I want to adopt but HDB don't approve.

Seriously, how many staying in private estates are enough to take care of each abandoned or stray dog?

Really wish HDB dwellers can also adopt a stray.

:weep:

Therefore I can only donate.

:weep:

Eh... not every1 folos the rules =X

If not u wont see HDB dwellers with 4 5 dogs, some wif large breeds walking all over the neighbourhood. :cheeky:

And quite a number of them arent having probs wif that. Basically on friendly terms wif neighbours( even malays neighbours ). Mosy imptly is b responsible of their own doggie. Never let dogs off leash other then ur own hse, pick their poo poo and ensure they pee on grass patch to show ur consideration for ur neighbourhood.

So if u are considerate enough and didnt cause any inconvienence to ur neighbours....

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

apparently they are very strict as to who volunteers to adopt the stray dogs.

my niece tried to ask but when they found out she lives in a 3 room flat, they said no. 'they' meaning SPCA lah. must be landed property.

but btw in my experience, ppl who want to give away their dogs usually change their mind....dog owners that is....not strays lah. I experienced ppl wanting to give their dogs away for pressing reasons and spend time asking around then change their mind. Just this year I was offered 3 dogs and all of their owners change their minds within a month of offering the dog for adoption.

i think they simply just cannot let go. attachment so strong!

about the mating....wah lau u guys so brave to offer your dogs for breeding cross breed! I used to mate my daschunds healthily but sometimes got complilcations. Very tragic leh and always in the middle of the night. but best wishes to you all trying to breed! dun wanna scare u!

help out at the shelter without pay...

i think uniform groups in schools do it, as part of service.

but for working adults would need serious commitment if you want to do it regularly. not just a one off thing.

i wonder if they have prerequisites for volunteers. like must be regular/consistent??

Recall of Pet Foods Manufactured by Menu Foods, Inc.

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore has been informed

that Menu Foods, Inc., a manufacturer based in Canada is recalling all its

"cuts and gravy" style dog and cat food produced at its facility in Emporia,

Kansas between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. The products are

packaged in cans and pouches under numerous brand names. No dry pet

food is affected by this recall.

According to the recall information available so far, the products are sold in

the United States, Canada and Mexico. Nevertheless, the AVA is currently

carrying out investigations to determine if the products had been exported to

Singapore. In the meantime, members of the public who have any of these

products should immediately stop feeding them to their pets. Dogs or cats

who have consumed the suspect feed and show signs of kidney failure

(such as loss of appetite, lethargy and vomiting) should consult with their

veterinarian.

According to the Food and Drug Administration in the USA, there has been

a small number of reported instances of cats and dogs in the United States

that developed kidney failure after eating the affected product. The

company has undertaken extensive testing of the pet food products in

question, but to date has been unable to find the source of the problem.

a church mate sms me whether i wanted a male cocker spaniel. owners want to give away permanently.

my nieces decided to take him despite size of the dog and size of flat. asked and found out that owners got a new puppy, a golden retriever and so the cocker spaniel couldn't get along with it. poor thing.....so owners decided off with him!!

seems gettign along well with my nieces. quite a charming dog. owners left him with mangled fur on the ears....we shaved him and got him a bath and ear cleaning for $47 in bedok. quiet and affectionate too!
