full face helmet offer the most protection compared to the 3/4 helmet which most ppl use.

when i was riding a sp, i wanted to get a full face helmet bcos it offer the best protection. but i heard comments like it will look very yaya... so i just got the normal 3/4 helmet.

will u feel paiseh to wear a full face helmet when riding a piaggio mp3 scooter?

or will u laugh at ppl who wear a full face helmet?

do share ur view.

you scared of ppl say you yaya, or prefer broken chin/jaw? u decide. same goes to ur body. t-shirt = gross cuts/bruises. try and invest in mesh jacket with protective armour. personally, i salute ppl who wear FF. i do the same.

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

Actually nobody cares what you wear. Sensible riders will applaude you for gearing up. Those who pass negative remarks aren't worth your time being bothered with. I wear a full face helmet, armoured jacket, full leather gloves and riding boots everyday, and I ride a Yamaha TW. When I was riding a Fuoco I wore the same thing. When I was riding a Bajaj I wore the same thing. Don't let your common sense be affected by those with no sense.

I wear a full face helmet, armoured mesh jacket, leather gloves with protectors, denim/Kevlar jeans and riding boots on my 2B bike whenever I ride.

I like to keep my chin and face intact, and my skin where it belongs. Riding is inherently dangerous, anything to minimize the risks!

Same as you, I wear all the above, less Kevlar jeans as I'm still looking for my size and I ride a spark.

I get stares from other riders / drivers. Recently, I stopped at a junction and there was this rider who stopped beside me. He was on a big bike (can't identify his bike coz I'm new to bikes) and worn a t-short, berms and slippers. He turned to me and 'examine' me from top to bottom. Either he was admiring my gears or thinking I'm a poser or whatever. Anyway, lights turned green and he sped off. In carparks, I received "hot weather and you wear like that, will get heat stroke" kind of comments. I just smiled and replied I'm used to it and safety first.

Hence, there are options on how we receive these stares and comment. I prefer to smile and move on because I enjoy riding and should I fall, I want a higher chance for my survival and minimum injury so that I can continue to enjoy riding and most importantly, answer to my family.

No offense to riders who prefer t-shirts/berms/slipper; just my personal thoughts and enjoy riding.

That's one of the promises I made to my wife and myself. Be disciplined :) I might be wrong, but this "protect yourself" attitude is more prevalent in places where the weather is more conducive to wearing riding gear. Understandable, but I say safety before comfort!

I wear full face helmet all the time, so far there isn't any rider who "laugh" at me about it, they all say full face is better. those who choose to wear half face main reason is they cant stand the heat

Coming from a different culture (ang moh here) but all the same when you ride a bike u dress for the fall, not to be fashionable

I wear FF helmet on 50CC moped, on 150cc 2b bike and now still on my class 2 bike plus the armored mesh jacket, boots and gloves

you only need to fall once to learn to appreciate these gear and as most riders can confirm, everybody falls one time or another

Seriously..... you guys suit up even when going to the neighborhood mart for groceries or whatever? Safe, sure..... but the bother....yuks. I am all for ff helmets though.

I wouldn't say there isn't times when I take it easy on the full gear approach but most of the time I don't budge. Gotta know the facts that actually most ppl get into accidents within 5 clicks radius of their home where they feel they know the area and tend to be less careful.

me wearing caberg duke (flip up) + rs taichi armor mesh jacket. riding a piaggio X8 . nothing to paiseh about bro. only thing is its dam bloody HOT!!! but safety comes first.

Read somewhere before that most accidents occur in the first 10 mins of a ride, and aren't necessarily because of excessive speed. You're probably not warmed up enough yet, your tyres not up to temperature, or you're still wondering if you left your house keys at home!

I got a 3/4 to match my kup, but after riding into Malaysia for 500 km, that's it, i'm getting a FF. in fact, i'm now looking at caberg which can switch between pilot and ff.

I actually do think every rider should invest in one FF at least for their own safety lah... be it MHR FF, AGV FF or ARAI FF....

If I don't feel like gearing up, I don't ride. By the way, it's not just the rider; I make my wife wear gloves too when she's my pillion.
