omnislash, don't forget to top up the cooler fluid. Best is go through the Yamaha Periodic Maintenance and Lubrication Chart.

Btw what tyres are you changing to? I'm currently having the Bridgestone BT020, doing fine, however Metzeler MEZ4 seems quite good as well. What's your view?

By rite going back to Yamaha Workshop should be the best for srvc, but then again, they don't seems like they are competence enough. Try Looi's and look for Meng Tong, heard he's quite good, but oso having some attitude problem.

thongkh, yes indeed, the R&G is good and proven. However to drill a hole of the size of the diameter of the sliders, need a steady hand and special tools. If not, better spend a bit more than sorry.

i'm pretty please with the stock tires so i should be using back the same.. Unless they cost a lot more.. anyone know the price?

I wont be going back to HL.. Had some bad exp with them if u were to look through this thread...

I do haf a recommendation from the previous owner.. should be going to him..

had the met z4 but change to bt020. the z4 does not grip too well on the rear. at first i thought onli during wet surface but when it did it on me once on dry road, lost all my confidence on it.

so far bt020 feels great (hard breaking, conering on wet surface) n gives lot more confidences compare to met z4. the onli down side its kinda noisy.

I doubt there's any here. Txs, sad to hear that the Metz aren't that good. Yes, agreed with you, the BT020 are good. Err.. noisy? Don't find them, coz I always have my earphones on.

Last month, Looi's Lee claimed that the price had increased to $28k plus.

erh wat kinda of noise does it have? anyhow.. BT 020 IS THE BEST I had try compare to MEZ 4 OR 6 .MORE lasting,, better cornering grips too ,, as for wet surface.. BT 020 COMPOUND IS BETTER THAN MEZ... But in any case,, MEZ have a harder compound in which when ur tyres on flat out it still can take u for a few hundreds meters (slowly) i mean,,,

I had a Super4 just before the FJR and I think its hard to compare the 2 bikes. The weight difference is quite obvious. You can almost turn on a dime with a properly sorted Super4 but an FJR feels almost as easy at speed. As for acceleration, the FJR can outdrag almost anything even with the panners on. Just last week, I must have irratated the hell out of a brand new 04 R1 owner just by keeping up with him while he was trying very hard to loose me. Imagine, he was in this racy aggressive riding position and I was like all comfy sitting on a couch. The FJR wasn't even stressed out, plenty of rev left. Kind of put things into perspective with that one.

Earlier in this thread, I've made a remark about the chattering on my Metz4 tires, I realised that it was actually due to a warp rear wheel, the deflection was almost 10mm. HL just replaced it for me today after more than a month's long wait for the replacement to arrive. Sad, being a brand new bike and all. o_O The only consolation is that the flaw was discovered early and HL was willing to acknowledge that the rim must have been damaged during delivery/shipment and I get the replacement free. I don't think the wheel is cheap.

You got that right!!:thumb:

I remember sometime back when I was waiting to cross over from Crown Prince to Cainhill, there was this Porche waiting to turn out. There was a Fazer 1000 behind him. Not realizing that his windows were down, I told my wife quite loudly that the bike could outrun the car anytime unless they were on open road. The next thing that we heard was his girlfriend turning over to him with an equally loud "IS IT?!!". I bet you could see fumes venting from his ears. :D :D And to rub it in further, once the road cleared, the bike was long gone even before he got to the top of the hill. We had a good laugh with that one.

Yap, thats the one. Initially I thought it was the tire so I bought a set of 020. It was only during balancing that the warp was discovered. Will keep the 4s' as spare. The tank bra should help reduced the cooking of the inner tigh. My get all sore and red after anything more than 150km.:thumb:

yep, FJR is anytime one, twist of throttle n whiz u go, pick up is relatively fast for shaft driven as well as gaining speed....smoother when approaching speed ard 120Km/hr...therefore picking up speed from there is also a breeze....not to mention stable too...
