A new bike now cost $26,300 after less without IU from Southern. Anyone know a better price for the bike ? Looi's selling them for at least $27plus .

CBX

Loois is selling at 1st party insurance, with IU..

So add up about the same, plus you get the benefit of Meng Tong looking after your bike

I got my FJR '03 model, 14 months, 42,000 km, $20,000

Me just went there to ask also......was quote a very reasonable machine price of only $21,000, mileage at 45,000km plus.....add up everything should be around $24,000......can be consider for a 1.5yr bike.....

Comparatively, that makes the pre-owned bike unattractive since new bike is between $26,000 to $27,000 (depending on 1st party or 2nd party insurance).

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

I just wondering how much did uncle lim trade in his bike for?!

Ah Tiong said he took in the bike at 21K and now only selling it for 21.5K . If on the road cost is $24K, I think I would rather buy a new bike. Obviously, Ah Tiong may have "accidentally" forgotten about the take in price.

Now waiting and making my calculations but with second prices like that, a new bike is the only option. A new bike give you better sleep at night for the few grand more.

I think u can with additonal rack. It should cost $1800 not inclusive of rack. Get Hepco & Becker instead.

Was quoted an all in price of $25,900 inclusive of the following:

6-mth road tax

1-yr 2nd-party insurance (>31 yrs old)

COE

Registration fee

IU transafer (this one is tricky)

GST

No more other charges like agreement fee or whatsoever.

I traded-in my existing NT650 (FT plate) for $7,000 and topped-up $8,000.

Loan amount is $10,900 over 3 years for 4% flat (No rebate if redeem loan prematurely).

That means $339.15 monthly installments.

However, I misunderstood what IU transfer meant. I thought it meant to transfer my existing IU on my NT650 to the new bike and did not clarify. What it actually meant was the shop will look for a vehicle due for scraping and transfer the IU to the new vehicle. I didn't like the idea so topped up $153 for a new IU.

Thus all in would be $25,900 + $153 = $26,053 (inclusive of GST).

when down to HL yesterday the mr lee there say the yamaha bikes all from them thus which other motor tiam should be selling ~ same price.

he then quoted that the '05 model otr (w/out insur) is $26,800 n the '04 model at $24,800. but u mention yours is only $25,900 otr (with insur) is it '04 or '05 model

Yes, he did but that is for the used bike he has there. For 21.5K, I think it too high. He claims that he took it in for $21K and only makes 500 for the admin cost etc. I rather go for the new bike at 26.3K.

Its '05 colour - two tone silver/blue.

Quote from the agent (HL) typically slightly higher then dealers.

That's the norm.

Better for you to ask around from other shops like Looi's, ASP, etc.

chung, so how was the 2nd insurance for >31 yrs? thanks for the breakdown of the cost. it helps in decision making!

According to the NTUC policy its stated as $677.00 (inclusive of GST & 10% NCD).

Cover type is Third Party & Fire & Theft.

They have not pass me a copy of the log card. I'm waiting to see what's the OMV of the machine.

Yes, I placed my order at the motorshow.

However, I was also quoted different prices by different dealers during the motorshow itself.

:giddy:

Someone else quoted me $26,800 at the Yamaha booth during the motorshow.

Tiong quoted me $25,900 so I went into details to list down in B&W what are inclusive in the price. Comparatively, it sounds like a good deal. So I booked one on the spot.

I traded in my FT plate Deauville (Honda NT650) for $7k. He confirmed it without looking at my bike. Just qualified that he'll deduct a couple of hundreds if the paintworks are bad. He only saw my Deauville on Monday when I went to collect the FJR. He didn't deduct anything, so I guess the paintworks was up to mark afterall.

:cheeky:

I think Tiong deals are chop chop one. He don't have the patient and its not his practice to explain everything in details. Some minor things may be give & take a bit. Just like what I did for the IU. As a buyer, its important to be diligent and clarify all the items. Last thing I want is to end up with a sour expecience while getting a new ride.

Uncle Lim invited me to "lim kopi" at Redhill market on Friday nite 9:30pm. Think I'll pop-by after class this Friday.

Any SBF fellows regular kopi kaki there?

PS: The Redhill market is being upgraded. So the temp venue is the make-shift market next to the MRT station.

Nah ! Rude to do that. He quote, I consider ! I think it is too high, I did not bother to bargain. I would have considered if it was like 19.5K or so.
