Just found out the oil is the brake fluid, the mechanic must have push in the brake piston too much during removing of the brake calipers when taking out the wheel. The brake fluid has eaten some paint on my upper triple tree and some on my fork tube.

Ooohh, thats sucks. I had that before when the mechanic mounted my reservoir wrongly on my rcs19. Paint off!

Only for top box it should fit a Hepco box, the rack is now in UK. Anyway I wrote in to Vpost to appeal, because talking to the Filipino FT is hopeless. :(

It's pretty much hopeless, they wouldn't bend over for anything. On what grounds are you appealing ?

Luckily its not on the fuel tank and its only a small area, going to touch up with some paint during my off days

Reason and facts that its not logical to pay to ship 17.8kg of air in the box where the item only weighs 4.5kg.

Good luck! They'll then charge you labour (XX x minimum wage), then insurance to cover themselves in case they did repack properly and the item is damaged and you sue them, etc. etc. Unfortunately, it's all about making money instead of logic and principles, nowadays.

You using stock brake master pump? Give your bike a wash in case some brake fluid is trapped behind corners. Mine had a leak that tarnished some paint too :(

Where's the chief? MIA? All this talk about 2011 Z1000 should have gotten his attention by now.

You are really set in your ways to get a 2011 aren't you? Can i see your street triple? ;)

Think I have finally decided on the Z1000. Just need to sell my bike first .. this will be my first proper Japanese 4-cylinder bike if I really buys it :)

Must get another green one, yohji. BTW, I was reading a ride comparison between CB1000r, Duc Street Fighter S and the Kawa Z; the Kawa had the best FC at 5.2l/100km. Guess the guys here must be riding their bikes like there is no tomorrow!

Let's go to Motomatic on Tue 19 Jul. Shall we meet at Causeway point, say 10am?

Who's going?

SMS me if you decide at the last min too, 8121 1154.

Yes definately a green one!

Yeah, the riding style affects the FC. That was why I was asking how the pple are riding here so that I can have a rough idea. I don't want to ride the bike like a turtle just to get good FC (I might as well ride my sportster). This bike should be ridden "in a fun way" when possible and when I feel like it :) But I got misunderstood that I'm a speed junkie, trackie, etc etc .. o_O

interested to see your triumph ah. Maybe I can upgrade. Haha!

You talking about my Triumph? Sure of course you can take a look

Yohji, the funny thing about my FC on Gen1; everyday city riding with traffic light antics = 225 km

Ride on NSH with average 140kmh also around 220km.

Looks like my FC is stuck around that no matter riding style. Magic bike!

ok, looks like only Ben and myself and we both are not very familiar. Let's reschedule it. Just realize you are using Google Map. I can't get the place on StreetDirectory earlier.

Someone asked me to get a engine head gasket for him via sms. Sorry, my phone died yesterday and lost all sms. Will still check out for you the next time I go in.

Bro I think the valve clearance will need at least half a day to complete as the engine needs to cool down before it can be done accurately, btw did you bought the gasket or have they ordered the part for you? because if you go there then order it will take at least 3 days to arrive from KL. You can check the spare part number and asked them to order for you.

My hazard switch arrived today but it did not work as I thought it should be, when the switch is press it did not latch on but spring back when I released my finger. Going to get a refund and order another switch.

You want a latching switch or a flip/toggle switch. Did they advertise the wrong type?

Gen1 is using 2 H7 bulbs. Not sure what Gen2 use. Check your manual or google for the type.

Just mho, don't use over-powered bulbs like the 100W types. Not good for your electrical system. More efficient ones like Osram DayBreaker are ok but heard they tend to burn out quite fast. I had it for my previous bike but not long enough to know if that's true.

I wanted a push button type which will latch and unlatch, somehow the one delivered does not function this way but luckily it can be refunded as long the item is return within 30 days. Since the push button type does not work the way I wanted have to go for the flip type. I am also exploring with the idea to install a mini DPST mini switch on the switch housing but need to see if there is space.
