but from the bike magazine which me, shay n benson bought, it got mention that the

rvf : 62bhp

cbr : 60bhp

hmm...cannot be leh...hey Ken think u meant another mag la..i read all over that section, cannot find a page that says RVF is 62bhp. and it definitely never say CBR is 60bhp leh....becoz cbr is not even mentioned under the 'weapon of choice' recommendation page.

even the all powerful Kawa400 is quoted as "nearly 60bhp".

if you go explore http://www.400greybike.co.uk/, you will know that only with good tuning(jetting), a good half system exhaust and airfilter mod can the RVF come to 60ish ++ bhp. at the rear wheels.

It all depends on which unit u go to after your bmt. If you go to one that can book out regularly, then keeping the rvf shouldnt be a problem. Nowadays NS pay is so high liao. Only a few yrs back, my sergeant pay was only 435, then just b4 ord is 445. Now, sergeants pay is much more than that liao. So normal men pay oso at least 400 rite?

The only prob comes in that u wont be riding it so often. So maybe getting a skipper might be gd. Coz u spend so much on installment every mth, then dont get to ride it, quite a waste. Unless you dont mind giving so much per mth, for riding it only when u book out.

If it's me, i wouldnt keep it. no point paying so much then nvr ride enuph. Coz either once you are more settled or ord, its time for you to get class 2 oredi.

do anyone know wat is HRC ignition  i be thinking is it a start bike one or.....

is the HRC CDI??

if so..well....i read in 400 greybike.com that it doesnt give you any ''boost'' in horsepower... its function is just to increase your rev range to the 15500RPM stratoshere..meaning allow yr bike to over rev without the standard cdi's cutout.

useful when you need to squeeze every drop of juice from yr v4 on the track.

whehter or not it advances your ignition timing is still a puzzle.

maybe some one who has this can enlighten?

Zookeeper,

When i was in BMT, i had only the runner and for the duration of 3 months, i have the chance to use the bike only on weekends. I hardly touched the bike!

After BMT in which you still have your whatever unit course, OCS, Sispec..etc.. that will take another few months or so.

Its all up to you. I can tell you with a runner, you can not feel too much of a "presence" on da road. Let me make this short

RVF - Fast, puts a smile on your face when you turn that trottle.

Runner - Cheap, not so hot since the engine is at the rear connecting to the rest of the swingarm. Quick on traffic jams. Going over 100km on the expressway feels like your bike is breaking apart.

You want to know more abt the runner, PM me.

You can get the sliders almost everywhere.

K&T as well as Motoworld has them. Costing around $80.

Be aware your fairing needs cutting.

U mean it's the same price no matter where i made it?

$80 a pair or??

got this from this thread: http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....showtopic=40191

Usually, LTA will send u a letter asking u to go for inspection when one of their gantries detects an error.

Da gantries are sophisticated enuff to tell if the error is cos of no cashcard, no IU or error wid IU or cashcard.

After inspection, if deemed to have a problem then u do not need to pay the ERP charge or a fine. If under warranty, IU will be repalced for free. If not its abt $155.

But sometimes its just the fuse tats blown. Tat cost abt 50 cents to replace.

GENTLEMEN!! we found HIM!!! WE FOUND HIM!!!

a NC 30 DINOSAUR!!!!!!

welcome dude!! lookin foward to meeting you and your legendary ride!

nc30 to rvf is like PGM3 is to PGM4! ...more powerful!

like i said b4, if i could find a NC30 in a good condition i would go fot it instead of my rvf. good choice. :thumb:

maintenance-wise;

the nc30 is a old bike...a rather old v4 engine can be a little nosier than usual. iz due to the tapperts or valves in your engine top running loose...so valve shiming check may be in order. if its been done before, can last u 40000KM.

from the manual, seems that rvf n vfr use the same kinda plugs and oil filter. as for air fliter im not too sure but yours might be k&n so no need to worry abt replacing if the condition is good. other than spark plugs that are a bit*h to replace..everything else is pretty normal.

other than bigger carbs which translates to better pickup, the nc30 is not too good on topend than a 35. NC30 has conventional forks as compared to 35's inverted.

hope this helps.
