Oh.. this is a very common fault for RVF... After u changed it, can last for ard a yr lor. Dun be sad. WHen getting it back?

if you are lucky..... 2 years oso no problem. but do check half yearly to ensure the electrical plugs coming out from the rect is not blackened.... not forgeting voltage checks across the batt terminals too.

 

try to change to those bigger metal rects with fins.

better pray its not the magnectic coil, if not tat time i change mine almost had a heart attack.. ain't cheap changing it..

how much roughly??

around $300??

 

all these tings spoil..... magnetic coil la, battery la, blown fuses la...iz all becoz of the OEM rectifier.

tat time i change magnectic coil + the big fin recifier cost almost $500 @ Teo spray.. the rectifier cost $130 so the coil + worksmanship already $370... later tat day i called K&T and ask clifford he quoted me everything not more than $420.. sigh..

hey guys, i saw a kupkia with a APrilia 250's instrument cluster..meaning the whole Tachometer and digital speedo assembly unit installed on the kup kia!!

 

iz the exact thing i wana do for my RVF! but if we get rid of our RVF's speedo, it would mean removal of that sensing resistor and the CDI will misfire. one way is to keep the resistor connection intact but put into a water-tight little box and just toss the speedo assy away.

 

but that would mean no more Temp gauges as well (vry impt for rvf).

 

anyone knows of a shop that does this speedo conversion for RVFs?

can someone ask clifford on their next visit? (coz i dun go there)

you can go to the Arai shop (the one with the BIG parrot) at Jalan Besar opposite Regina. there is a guy who rents a corner from the shop to rewrap seats.., anything from kupkias to ZX12s.

should be in the ranges of $20-$30 for one seat, cant remember but if you rewrap both rider n pillion seat got special discount one..hehehe....
