went down to planet straight on a saturday evening after im done at unique as the mech there told me to my just taken over cb400 ver s need to do top overhaul. dun believe him and went to seek chong for his opinion, reach around 8pm when he is pushing in the bikes into his shop to close shop for the day, requested him to listen to engine sound and go for a test ride to see the health of the engine, didnt turn me away by saying "close liao come back on monday" instead still can crack jokes about unique and jolly took his trademark colourful helmet and rode my bike around. even found a spanner left by the unique still attached to a nut around the header area... in the end he say just need to change tensioner nia. tell the unique mech go flykite anyhow ask people open engine... feel abit bad letting unique earn my cash instead of chong, chong really top notch service!

same thing happened to me too,at jurong. say need change the front brake pump/set

then i call chong immediately on the spot. just need to bleed

Ok thanks for the info, anyways I saw the mech with the Kawa and box cos he usually comes early to avoid jam.

 

Had him check my bike n left dere, aftnoon come back take bike.

 

Dmg $700 ouch for

- Michelin front n rear tires

- Did chain n Sprocket

- Front brake pump

- Maxima coolant

- Rear brake pad

- Yamaha horns

- Chrome crash bar

 

At least no oil/coolant leak so far if not my ver s can scrape liao

u did flushing of the cooling system?

 

u got see 2 holes at the sides of the engine block? if the holes leaking will cost few thousand to replace the block.

my advice is dun save on tyres and brakes, cos tyres are the only point of contact between the road and your ride and good brakes prevents u from kissing other vehicles and the road.

 

i invested $288(promotion price) on metzeler sportec m5 front and rear

Mech advise this michelin firepower one. It's alrdy above average for tires.

 

Yep I changed brake pump with bleeding of brake fluid leh. I dun save on tires/chain/brakes.

 

It's jus u dun need to over spend. No need get track standard like pilot power.

haha, the issue is this firepower is not in the michelin tyre lineup, i googled it cannot find. pilot power is only so so tire below $200 for a pair. slippery during wet conditions.
