My friend whom once owns a MP3 wanted the canopy but the 2k to 3k price deter his wishes for shelter....

For pricing analysis between AD3 300 @$14,200 and verus MP3 300 @$18,550 (bike 15k, box $550 plus canopy estimated $2.5k) note estimate modify wiper system at $500......

He also mentioned that the workshop services has nothing to brag about either.... when he bring his MP3 in for service, was declined and told to call them first for appointment.....

That was before on the mentioned service atititute but now is nice to know that their sales rep Mark is professional and helpful.

Thanks for the price analysis, but i just wanted someplace to buy my bike properly,,,,of course price is a consideration, but if i have to put up with LOUSY ATTITUDE, AH BENG AND AH SENG TYPE OF SERVICE, GANGSTER TYPE OF SALE STAFF, THEN FORGET IT....what is the point if the bike has a warranty but you do not want to use it or cannot use it.....then it only serves to encourage this kind of modus operandi in the bike business......it has to stop and we can help by DEMANDING what is due to us.....no compromise.....

I have not got to the actual pricing yet for the all weather roof shield, but i will post the breakdown for all to know, because there are people like Ben & yourself & others who CARE TO SHARE......wish there are more people like you.

Cheers

Thank Ben for the info.

I have all the components except the relay. Was thinking to go down to SL tower to get one, then after looked at your pic then I realized I actually have a horn relay which I ever installed. lol

Btw, do we need to loop the neutral? I normally just connect to the nearest metal body as return.

Ya can use common ground if you want. The relay I use is BOSCH horn relay bought from LAB.

Although at some point of time during the initial purchase I was quite displeased and frustrated, thinking back now it's not fair to condemn them because they had not handled the sales of the first batch properly.

It had boiled down to two major problem in my point of view, firstly was poor communication and second was hardware pre-check. I presume due to the prolonged delay and being urged to move the AD3 off the show floor had resulted in the sales rep providing us with whatever unconfirmed info they had and a hasty pre-check before handing over the bike.

Of course as a customer we have a right to demand only the best level of service which Mah failed back then to due to circumstances.

With that said and moving on, my subsequent visits to Mah has been better and better each time. The last time I went to have my tyre valve replaced under warranty, everything was done professionally. I opened a ticket at the counter, handed over the keys and sat around until it was ready. Every item I listed on the check list was gone over. Also the sales rep is quite keen to attend to me even after sales when I whatsapp him some questions abt the AD3 on several occasions.

Also they held a mini event for us which they gave some free gifts, ang pow on top of dinner, which I saw it as their way of making it up to us.

I think before and after I took over the keys I did notice an improvement in the service standards. However this is purely my own personal experience, I do not know if it would be the same for you.

The AD3 used for the stunt show had totally no modifications, the rubber stopper is actually thicker than the current production models. Yes, you can corner that low!!!! Abe has been riding the AD3 for quite a while now, and he is very used to the low cornering, all the AD3's he stunts with have no modifications whether its in Japan, Taiwan or Singapore, don't try it unless you are extra confident you can handle the low corners.

BTW, ADtre is the model name only for Japan......the rest of the countries is AD3

Ya low speed can corner but high speed will run out of lean angle quickly.

Ben, You are a being very benevolent........I hope they have really pick up their act, because going forward, if they carry on status quo, they will just bury themselves, regardless of how financially strong they are, or how many dealerships they have.......it just a matter of time.

Social media is a very powerful weapon, used correctly, it can make or break your business TOTALLY.....believe me,

I have been there before and nearly, very nearly cause my ex-company to fold up......from hero to zero......

Professionalism & attitude cost very little, it is very foolhardy to tempt providence.......

But like you say, maybe, just maybe give them a chance and see what is happening,,,if a relatively big player like them turns around quickly, it can only benefit bikers, and the industry as a whole will move forward, because the non conformist will definitely live to regret the day...............

I would echo Ben's words although it would have been the MP3 for me if it wasn't some other factors of which I've mentioned a few in the previous posts... Nonetheless to each his own.

On another note dear big bros.. I have very good news to share. I have installed my Dr. Pulley clutch and in less then 30Km of riding, I am totally convinced that I will never use the original clutch again.

The performance is day and night difference I don't know how to put it into words. If this is as close to perfect as a centrifugal clutch is designed to be, then I will the original clutch a big fat F-Fail.

If I may try to illustrate the performance in my own words, I would say the HiT clutch will be able to transmit 90% of the power to the wheels whereas the stock clutch struggle between 60-70% and the more you open the throttle the more it tries to slip.

If a traditional clutched bike doesn't slip, let's say 99% efficient. The HiT clutch may perform very close to it, with the last few % lies in the final tuning adjustment of the clutch.

I have not touched the tuning or fully run in the pads but already am very pleased with the performance. I grab a fist full of throttle a few times during the 30Km ride and only heard it skip a beat once or twice. On the stock bike it would have skipped many beats whenever you try to accelerate and the rpm sounds like it's bouncing up and down as the clutch struggles to catch on the clutch.

The bad news is...... it is quite expensive locally being sold by a sole distributor. The price I last enquired was somewhere in the ball park of $600. My set of Dr pulley HiT clutch and sliding variator weights costs me almost half that price as I got a friend to hand carry back from Taiwan.

Hope you all don't hate me for dropping the poison here but it's really good stuff.

Thanks for the share... just to enquire if there's any effect on the fuel efficiency of the bike after installing the mod? Do you think Dr Pulley will be a cheaper alternative? Although i think changing the clutch will be more cost effective in the long run.

All stock 24-25km/l.

With the sliders and stock clutch, my FC is ~23-24km/l. But I don't think it was very effective as any extra power it made causes the clutch to slip more resulting in even higher rpm. On the avg 300-500rpms higher then stock.

Now with the clutch I do notice the rpms are abt 300rpm lower than the above setup, much closer to stock but still slightly higher. However a lot more 'go' then slipping, I hope this will result in better FC as more power is utilised then wasted. I will observe further and feedback here my FC/performance and settings.

Not at all... Thanks for the schematic. If I may add on, basically I used the positive (+) output of 87 and link it to the distributor block alternating between (+) and (-) so multiple device can be attached to any pair of + and -.

If the MP3 has a poor performing stock clutch then it would be a good remedy. Else it may not as cost effective.

You may look at reviews for the MP3 400 for HiT Clutch.

No updates from the shop I wanted to get to install the mp3 player, so I ordered a set that is quite similar to Andre's. Except it has MP3 player built in, but no line-in port.

Still waiting for it to reach SG.

Hi all, warning about the eBay seller "happymotor1019".

In case you are planning to order the item above from happymotor1019 on eBay, please don't.

I received my package today and found that it was not the item I ordered. The item received is similar to the one that Andre bought. When I emailed happymotor1019 with photos to prove the wrong item, I was asked to take the sent item as it has the same function as the one I ordered. The unit I ordered has MP3 player built-in, but the one I received does not (which was why I ordered a different unit in the first place). Obviously, happymotor1019 does not know the products that he is selling

The alternative option is for me to send the package back to him and he will send me my item "soon". No mention on date or timeframe on how long it will take to send the replacement. Have replied to happymotor1019 that I do not expect to pay for shipping back to him as it was a mistake on his part originally. Now waiting for his reply.

Hope fellow bikers are aware of such sellers and avoid the frustrations that I am facing now.

2nd day of riding with HiT clutch. The stock setting is very linear. 1/4 throttle can smoothly go up to 60kmh.

Quite confident this can improve FC with disciplined riding style.

Hi Ben,

I'm not familiar with the parts suppliers for scooters. Can share who is the sole distributor for the Dr. Pulley clutch?

The idea of a more effective clutch is very tempting....

Thanks. :)
